  • this is my most favorite video on Youtube :) I really feel like flying..

  • It's just my favourite plane but when taking off, it doesn't want to. It takes forever for it to get off the runway. It's like trying to get a fat woman to fly with two rulers for wings.

  • I'm flying in one tomorrow! :-D Not flying myself though... Not yet....

  • You still flying the Tomahawk?

  • @grissomairport It's been a few years since I've flown one ... miss it though!

  • nice flight. :)

  • From start up to shutdown you didn't change fuel tanks, stayed on left. How do you know the right one worked ?

  • @pilotwhite Because I landed with a working engine.

  • Nice video! I liked your "outside scan" - kept it going throughout your flight. Nice job! N-6395T

  • nice flying young man. great video set up.

brings back memories when i used to train in one of those.

  • It's been 20 years since I've flown one. But it dose block part of your view, but not enough to matter. You could crab for part of the landing or sit up a little to see over. I do prefer top wing aircraft like Cessna's. I flew to see the world. Before 9-11, my son and I took the New York tour down the Hudson River. To fly at altitude for that corridor the twin towers were well above us!!

  • nice video

  • Hope you never fine this out out, I did at 7,000 ft over Spain. But the Tomahawk will fly on half an engine!!!!! I pulled power to desend toward the airport, and cold shock the engine. I forgot how hot it was where I left, about 119 degrees. I climbed to cool off, but it was 2 hours later and was almost home. I went to just above stall speed to fly the last 5 miles. After landing I checked the oil, there was NONE!!! It was all on the passenger side of the plane!!!

  • @RoadkillFXSTC Odd question but when you are doing medium turns in a tomahawk do you use the engine cowling or the dash for the refence?

  • One of my favorite aircraft! Love this video!!! im learning to fly and i fly a piper tomahawk :)

  • hey man!

so good vid, good lucky for you in this trip into the aviation.

how you fixed the cam on the cockpit?

    thanks a lot!

  • nice job i own a pa38 love flying it. what airport are you out of i am in florida

  • Nice video/image quality. What camera did you use?

  • Very nice, stable approach. The Tomahawk is a nice little aircraft that is underrated by many people. I enjoyed the video.

  • Awesome video, great flight!

  • Nice choice of music. Good flying! I'm sure you've racked up several hundred hours since this video!

  • A superb trainer with great visibility, stalling was always eventful though !!!!

  • Nice flying young man

  • Thank You! :)

  • good fly but one thing, carb heat should be off just after second stage of flaps on finals !!!!???

  • Really nice video...but I would have preferred to hear the engine and ATC instead of music..........specially 'broken wings!' ;>)

  • Excellent Video!

I love this plane! Well done!

  • Great video. Nice flying!! I love the Tomahawk.

    I took my first solo in G-BGZF Piper PA-38-112 Tomahawk c/n 38-79A1015.

  • I still remember I got my solo, private, and commercial in a PA38, I really miss that plane.

  • Hi there, really enjoyed your video! Thanks. I'm 15 at the moment and have 15 hours in the Tommy. Going to fly solo on my 16th birthday March 5th in it as i will be legal then. Really looking forward to it! I want to video it as well as I can, I have a nice new Sony 60GB hard rive sony camera which records in HD and I have a 0.7X wide angle lens for it as I thought it would be perfect for the cockpit. Just wondering how to mount it! Could you please tell me in great detail how you mounted it! TX

  • I don't know if i would have used "broken Wings" in a flying vid lol. Really nice vid. I flew the Tomahawk out of 3fk back in 1990. When my cfi was killed in a plane crash in 1996 my wife grounded me but once flying isin your blood it never goes away. RIP Peggy

  • I soloed in a Tomahawk in 1980 when I was 19. Funny, at age 48 I would be a little afraid to do that now. We are INVINSIBLE when we are young. I got over 20 solo hours then quit when my brother was killed in a car wreck and my mom asked me to stop flying small planes.

  • Smart...

  • wonderful video and good music, I love that song of Brian Adams!

  • nice flying, how old are you? you maybe 17, or maybe 18??

  • __!__

     ___o_(_)_o___ Nice job!

  • Great job on the video and I was impressed with your flight. You did a good job of keeping your head out of the cockpit and flying the Tomahawk.

I've been flying them since the early 80's and they are a blast to fly!

    Best to you always! ___I___

  • hey dude nice flight the tomahawk is a great plane i soloed in it thanks men greetings from El Salvador ys-332-pe

  • I love that instrument panel, and nice wide view. 1981 was the last time I flew a PA38. Thx for the video, a really nice one.

  • Perhaps better lyrics to this song would be:

    "Take this broken tail

    And never spin again"

A little gallows humor from a proud T-Hawk owner. :-)

  • realy nice video, thanks for sharing

  • If you can, please respond..

how did you mount the camera? It was really steady in this video. Awesome job!

  • Thank for the comment. I used a tripod with long legs. Make sure you extend the legs to help with stablization...

  • Thanks! Im gonna do a couple of videos like that... hope taht you dont mind.. I really like the way that it looks.

  • Fantastic. Brought back great memories of flying VH-FTX and VH-CNV on Sunday morning at 'Proflite', Bankstown airport (YSBK) in Sydney Australia in the mid 90's. I remember that FTX was the better of the two PH-38s. CNV had an annoying pull to the left!

  • Well done son

  • Ahhh, the tomahawk. That was the aircraft I soloed in, many years ago. N4465E.

*sigh* good times. I have not flown in years, i miss the ol' tramahawk.

  • It's not a dangerous aircraft... it is actually very safe, if you have complied with all the tail AD's. It's the pilot that is dangerous...

  • Muy buen video, felicitaciones!

    Saludos.

  • One of best GA videos watched.

  • My flight instructor performed a spin in our tramuahawk! I soloed in it, and a couple of months later, a pilot was killed in it. Dangerous but fun aircraft.

  • I truly enjoyed this video as if I was really flying. you got a great talent.

    great job.

  • Thank you... i'm glad other people enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it! Cheers!

  • Nice video.

    I enjoy flying the PA38.

    You did a good job.

For some reason I tend to land to the left of the centerline too.

  • nice landing mate!

  • Thanks!

  • could you say me what is the name of this song?

  • Hi

The song is by Mr. Mister and called "Broken Wings"

  • thanks!!!

  • And the second song is "Summer of '69" by Bryan Adams. Cheers!

  • Where is this? That looks like Mt. Rainier in the background.

  • Two great soundtracks, precision flying what more can I say...I last flew the Tomahawk in the early 90"s. Made me feel like "Top Gun".... "I feel the need the need for speed".....you know the rest.....well done

  • This is in acuwings flight school.?

  • Yes.

  • Great video friend... I'd like that you see my videos in Argentina with a Tomahawk too... congratulations!

  • Great video and a nice landing!

  • Nice landing

  • Incredible wonderful. How old is this baby-pilot!?

  • Great Video guy, with nice music. I own N2512N at KFRG. I have a couple of videos on my account. I have to try that tripod thing next time.

  • What soundtrack is that.

  • #1 - Broken Wings by Mister Mister

#2 - Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams

  • great. could you tell me how you recorded this? tripod in the back?

  • Yes, a just a tripod did the trick! -- Thanks for the comments!

  • Nice one, did you stick the tripod down down?

When i did my video i found that it was difficult without a wide angle lens to get everything in and did consider a tripod, might do it in the future.

    You'res looks almost like a simulator :p

  • loved it.. happy and safe flying bro

  • Fantastic video
