  • We think that's a great idea! Deb and I were just talkin about the very same thing, not your idea, but what was the best way to label the seeds. You hit a homer, and we appreciate it for sure. Also like the cups too. We normally just plant the seeds directly into the soil, but with the GH now, we'd like to keep a continuous supply comin on, and ways of startin the seeds off was Greek to us. Again, great idea! God Bless you too, my friend!

  • Super idea! Thank you for sharing. Keep the video's coming. you are doing a great job!

  • great idea! So far I've used the butter knives from party packs of plastic silverware (always end up with tons of knives left and no spoons or forks). They work pretty well, but this idea will keep me from having to throw more parties just for the plastic silverware. :)

  • what a great idea....just replaced a bunch of mini blinds

  • @ontap55 Hoped it helped! Thanks for watching.

  • Oh my goodness! I love this idea, and I have tons of them that I was getting ready to toss out. I really need labels, I'm tired of not knowing what plant is what, with paper tags. This will save a lot of money considering that I can buy seed with that money. Bless you for this one, I was so fed up with sticks and paper.

  • @Sheila6325 glad to help.

  • Only problem is don't put your seed pots out in windy conditions as the window blind label acts like a sail and tends to tip over with a slight breeze.Of course this could be lessened by cutting the blinds in hald longways.

  • @riceke This is meant for inside use.

  • That's a great idea. Thanks for sharing!

  • @chikkagrl Your Welcome!

  • @JaxRL Thank you for watching :). Hope you are feeling better!

  • lollllllll ohhh mannnnnnn... I JUST bought some of those plant tags. oh well

I always lose them so.. your idea will come in handy soon I'm sure! lolll

No matter how I try to label my plants.. I turn my back for one minute and it's "ok ..where did that label go???" lolll

  • @gardenvespers777 Yep I do the same thing.

  • Great idea, guy!

I used toungue depressers last year and it did not turn out well.

I think I would use a paint pen instead of permanent marker. it should last a lot longer. Thanks.

  • @texasprepper2 Thanks for watching.

  • I use wine corks! Window blinds are great but I had the ink wash out when I put them outside. But I might have used a dry ease marker so I'll try that again. I have 2 huge blinds in the back. Also, I use tongue depressors and break them in half so they fit into my seed starter box. Great tip!

  • I was looking for a old blind the other day just for this purpose, next time I won't throw them out..

  • @dianemummvideos Thanks for watching!

  • What a great way to keep them out of the landfill! Thanks!

  • @ourrepurposedlives Your welcome! Thanks for watching.

  • I have done this too, only I need to use a permanent marker. My stuff got so mixed up last year, cause the ink came off. lol Worked good other wise. Thanks.

  • @loislaney23 Wrap them really good with tape. That is what I do with all of mine to keep the labels eadable and so far it works great!.

  • @ourrepurposedlives Great Ideal, Thanks!

  • @ourrepurposedlives Do you mean write on them, then put like scotch tape or something like that over the writing? Good idea, thanks.

  • @loislaney23 Yes, just write it on there (unless you want to reuse it for other plants, then write it on slip of paper first) then tape it up. I use packaging tape since it sticks better much longer than scotch tape. But, if you have the clear contact paper, that works even better. I just do a square, insert the marker at the halfway mark, then fold the contact paper over, making a smaller square. I do this for the ones I do not change labels on.

  • @ourrepurposedlives Thanks for explaining. I forgot about clear contact paper, I used to use that to protect my wood patterns, but had forgotten. Great tip!!

  • @loislaney23 Your welcome.

  • I save all containers from cup I get when eating at place with papercups I take them home wash them out to use to grow new seed in them. I keep 32 oz yogurt containers to transplant to. and milk cartons. I recycle all clam shell contains and deli type containers from salsa.

  • I also save yogurt and other dairy food containers. Use the bowl part for the plant and then cut up the lids to use as tags with permanent marker. Blinds are stiffer and work better but the yogurt containers work in a pinch

  • @dirtpatcheaven Hey whatever works. Better then filling up the landfills with reuseable stuff. Thank for watching.

  • great idea I was just organizing some tags a few minutes ago you can also find used ones at thrift store. never thought about that Thank You

  • @imblessed62 Yep...I ride through town on garbage day and pick them up.

  • Great tip.Much appreciated.

  • @HoschtonBoy You bet, thanks for watching.
