Everyone has their own opinion and rightly so, but for me Stevie Ray blows Jimi Hendrix out of the water and Claptons not close, he felt the music in his soul and it showed on his face and through his magical fingers. He left us a lot of great music to remember him by. RIP SRV
@GhostsInMyAttic actually, there were 4 helicopters. eric wasnt supposed to be on the same one as Stevie. one of the band members was. just sayin.................
This may sound selfish of me..... but because he and a few other great artist died so young, we have garbage music being produced and thrown at us... Try turning on the radio today... total SHIT!!....
@crystalcalia And to think that at that particular Montreux concert in "82 some of the crowd were actually booing him. Play it back and listen carefully. They were a totally different crowd when Stevie returned years later.
@BitchPleaseMETAL I think I read somewhere that he followed someone who played more of an acoustic set or, folk-styled music maybe, and I guess they weren't expecting him to play his brand of Blues with an electric guitar. I might be wrong but I think that's the story. Either way, other artists saw him there and it was his beginning to stardom.
@bradbge yeah, we have lost so many talented stars, like jimmy brown, ronnie james dio, and now, we have just gay singers like justin biebber and lady gaga
cows lay eggs, chickens make milk, squirrels produce wool, beef is made out of tons of mouse meat cooked together. In 1973 in Los Angeles a bank was robbed using a bull to smash through the vault, and a man rode the bull out with bags of money yelling "Yeeehaw", while playing a banjo riding off into the sunset. Just some random facts. Thought y'all should know.
At least Jimi and Stevie have been having gigs since the day he died. May lord rest his soul.

The boos he got from that show were saddening. But, Mr.DB was out there in that crowd and it was a show that helped SRV get his foot in many doors.

If only SRV, Johnny Cash, and Jimi hendrix were still alive today. I'd give anything to see them all in concert.
