As these days we want instantaneous results, don't we? So I think this is good. Use this first, maybe dark basic,etc then get into the harder stuff! I'm actually looking for them who can do all to my specific requirements, and will make it their worthwhile financially, for all rights to the finished product once I'm satisfied it's what I wanted.

I feel like this maker was made by people who never play games. Lives? Score? Only option for combat is bullet, regardless of its 'genre' choices. Reminds me of the day when NES dominated the console market and numerous companies made 'just what ever' because kids were supposedly too stupid to know a good game. At try to see what works in a game. Like maybe melee options, a level editor, and a title screen with buttons might be a start. I like the general idea though.

"Game makers" are little more than glorified mod toolkits for simplistic engines. You're not going to see a game on the shelf at walmart made with Dark Basic, Game Maker, or any of the sort. Use C++ and either DirectX or OpenGL, it's really not that hard to get started -- and if it is to you, you most likely shouldn't be programming to begin with.
