  • you could have added an evil laugh at 0:37

  • I didn't know there was a severe thunderstorm in Scotland as well. It's spooky.

  • Wow ur brave..... I'd have been under the stairs or sumin.

  • This was one of the best Storms to hit the West of Scotland in over 15 years, at it's peak the lightning detector was recording a strike rate of 145 s/m, we tracked along the northern side it for 10mi.

    Great footage Ron

  • I love a good thunder storm

  • @keithc1977 me too :) I absolutely love lightning!!!!! It is beautiful ....

  • I really hope we will have these storms in israel

  • I remember this storm very well, I stayed in east kilbride, I remember being at a friends house whos window looked out to the south, and i just remember glancing out the window and pooping myself lol. I didnt know much about cloud formations but it was the blackest clouds I have ever seen in my life. And then once I got home a fork of lighting took out a tree outside my house and set multiple car alarms off

  • wow. So cool.

  • That storm was awesome right here!!!

  • could i use some of your footage for a music video man?

  • Sorry, all the footage is Copyrighted by the BBC

  • @ronstirling If he's a British citizen then BBC can't do fuck with their copyright.

  • i remember when this happened. i stayed in paisley at the time and i remember walking home from the chippy and the sky was the blackest i have ever seen it, scary shit, what a sight but

  • Go out in a thunderstorm with a big mirror and an umbrella. When the lightning strikes you can defract it towards building, vehicles with the mirror.

  • I love storms. Nearly been hit by lightning it happened within 5 feet of me and my whole body was struck by all the resident static lit up the floor like fairy lights. My hair stood on end for about 2 minutes and when I touched my friend he got a really cool shock! Love it!

  • An unforgettable night! I remember after a few minutes realising this wasn't going to be just another storm...

  • Woah o_o

  • a remember this, it was cool

  • looks like the blitz

  • ive had worse

  • this is the spring in scotland, fukn shite

  • that is the worst storm ive ever been in, scary shit man

  • i remember this storm

i was playin football and a seen the cloud then a ran to the house and it started, it was on for hours, it was scary at the time

    i fuckin shat myself

  • that was a pretty impresive storm !

  • BLimey, and I thought the storm during a scout I was on in 2003 was bad. August 2003 in the Midlands when a nasty storm struck and lasted nigh on 11 hours. I'm in Manchester and we dont get storms like this.

  • Here in Tahiti it thunderstorms almost everyday!

  • I remember that ! Everyone in my street was out playing and as soon as they heard thunder, they all scattered !

  • i remember this

    it was brilliant man

  • yea all you get is volcanoes. i'd rather thunder n lighting anyday i think.

  • i wish we had that kind in hawaii lol..the weather is boring here

  • we get storms like this and worse all the time where i live!

    i love it!

  • omg scared to death of thunder & and lighting i hope we dont have anii like that where i live

  • We had a Thunderstorm just days before that here in Fife.

  • Where about in Fife? I come from Glenrothes in Fife and we never got anything! lol

  • I miss the sounds of thunder and lighting.

  • in East Kilbride( where i stay) the sky was like pea green

  • i was stuck in a caravan up in dunoon if this was the correct storm. My nan, me and my pop were all sitting with the next door neighbour and his head was going blue (he's got a bald head) and the caravan was shaking and all sorts. It lasted all night and i ended up trying to peak out the window - dont know why, im terrified of thunder and lightening!

  • The footage is great but doesnt show anywhere near how bad this storm really was. It was constant lightning and the thunder didnt stop for a 2 second break as it doesnt show in this video. My friend lost her hamster in the garden one hour before it started. The sky went black all of a suden then a flash of lighning and thunder came and then it didnt stop. my friend got a picture of it the lightning was that often.

  • i remember one just as bad in fife, it set the fire alarm off and my cat got a charcoal shave, once in a purple flashing moon, just 2 novembers ago actually.

  • I HATE thunder and lightning!!!

  • Ohio could get some storms like that

  • i live in kansas and we are having a storm so much worse as i type this and we are like totally calm...people in the uk go out and buy food like its armageddon! lol

  • "people in the uk go out and buy food like its armageddon! lol"

    ...hardly!

  • @ronstirling actually it was really bad my house was struck by that lightning and my tv dvd sky that was just put in all blew and also blue sparks were traveling along our floor boards so we had to stand on the sofa:S

  • Hardly!

  • I think I remember this storm, I don't live in Glasgow but in Dundee there was a storm that lasted from about 1am to 5am, I think it was the same one?? :S

  • Possibly the best UK Thunderstorm footage I've seen!

  • fuck thank whoever that i lived in easterhouse lol

  • I remember watching this storm from a balcony on a 9th floor flat on Clyde Street, over looking the southside. Then we remembered the balcony was made of metal and decided to retreat inside. That storm was awesome, thanks for posting this great vid.

  • Nice video!! Thanks for posting!!

  • Splendid.

  • me too but tornadoes.

  • I could seriously waste the whole day away watching awesome lightning vids like this on youtube.

  • What on earth did you just say?! Is your keyboard missing some letters? lol

  • I flew back from Majorca that night and we circled Glasgow (thought the plane was going to fall out of the sky) before being diverted to Edinburgh. Nobody wanted to fly back to Glasgow once we were on the ground and the police were called and they boarded the plane to stop everyone rioting. The pilot actually said on the tannoy "thats us landed happily and alive", he was French i think. Just annoyed that I missed the storm on the ground - must have been great.

  • bullworth dont be a dick! go back to smoking dope ya junkie!

  • i was in cyprus about 7 or 8 years ago. i remember a thunderstorm very nearly shit myself with the thunder, sounded like bombs going of.

  • we have humungous storms end of the summer and beginning of spring and i live in an area with open land ,i filmed some great ones and will follow up by converting them ...today we had a shower of metorites ,i stopped and watched and counted 35 in hour ,...1 every two minutes ,

  • lol wot a fucking intense video lol lol lol

  • *****

  • that was a great storm. And glasgowis in te uk esotrik67 s it's highly unlikey we get that many storms as u would in colorado

  • New Mexico owns CO & FL in lightning & thunder storms.

  • I started making audio recordings of thunderstorms here in Houston, TX a while back. Just recently ther was one right over my house, with the thunder and lightning coming together!

Being Scottish I am much are more use to forked lightning, so what they have here is certainly different and happens much ore often. Here in TX though the lighting lights the whole place up.

  • Thats an average Thunderstorm in Colorado. We get the most lightning strikes in North America right behind Florida.

  • That's cool that your footage made it onto the news!

  • people say that glasgow has a neds problem, I think the weather is more dangerous myself ..... thats the height of summer on a good day LMAO...

  • I love thunderstorms!!

  • Great. It must rain there a lot.

  • ach where are ye fae??

  • got shown on news lucky you!!

  • Yeah, and being the good old BBC, they managed to stretch to furnishing me with a whopping £50! I didn't know where to spend it all! lol

  • £50 that was pretty stingy of them. My sister did some BBC stuff once, and years later they broadcast it without any heed to copyright or cheques. Naturally she complained and got all of £5 sent to her! They can be sneaky and don't care about copyright.

  • ahh i remember that storm it started with terential rein wich we do not usally get and before u new it there was well loads of lightnin ma freinds tree got hit and our school got hit

  • nice

  • ill have u know, if a "big bang" made us, what made the big bang? and what made that? and the creator of that? and if ur going to ask, god says, "I was always here". Don't quite understand, do u? nobody can. no human mind can comprehend it. if u want to call christianity a cult or a huge waste of time, go ahead. but i ask u to plz accept wat we say, so u will be saved from ur fiery doom.

  • that was strange, i was in carluke watching from my balcony. there was a lot of lightning but no rain. on my weather radar there was a line of strikes but all to the west of the M74. there was no rain to the east of the M74 where i was. i got off the golf course just in time

  • to: "brianunderwater" My house has been hit by lightning before and the fact that it didn't burn down to nothing just proves that there is infact a God. And the fact that we can all live each day is proof that there is a God. The fact that miracles happen everyday around us is yet more evidence that there is a God! So please do not ever say that! If you have any further comments, please feel free to put them here. Thank you and God bless.

    .:*Monica*:.

  • my footage was nothing to that haha.great,

  • i managed to get 3 pics usng my camera phone, shows how often it struck. amazing stuff eh!

  • Wow, that was impressive, the Canadian Prairies get nailed every summer, but I haven't seen anything like that for a long time, I'll bet you guys didn't get a wink of sleep that night!! Great vid, I've favourited it.

  • haha, yeah god does that. yeah right. its called nature which is here and real. god, you have never seen and you will never see "him" (if you want to give it a sex) because it doesn't exist.

  • Erm,sorry, but God doesn't deal with the weather and Nature,Mother Earth does(Or Mother Nature, whatever you wanna call her). She must've been in a bad mood that night.

  • God is not in the tornados, hurricanes, floods, etc. for those forces seak to destroy. However he creates them for us to turn to him in our time of great need. Also without thunderstorms our world could not exist it would just die

  • hey buddy if god doesnt exist because u belive u cant see him the u should understand that if we could see could with our external vision then what the hell is the point of living in this world we might else we be in heaven free from evil. lifes a test to see who can reconise the lord by his signs thoses who do will see the lord. Thats a Fact

  • Reality is an illusion, albeit a persistant one.

  • I've seen bigger... Just goes to show we do not own the planet, and if we keep abusing it the way we have...we won't be here much longer.

  • I did live in Ohio for a while, the storms there were immense! I didn't have a camcorder at that time though :(

  • He need not even go that far, just go to the NE of Scotland, where this thing is common enough to not be news worthy. If it lasted over 9 hours then I might be impressed.

  • I love thunderstorms..but we are in a basic drought so it was fun to watch yours and be envious :)

  • I love thunder storms as well, especially the ones that go booooooooom! :)
