  • wow,now that looks amazing, beautiful and peaceful I love the way you set this up its almost like your own personal vacation but right in your own home I love this amost make me want to do my own,see what you started :D lol

  • put a basking log or rock for your turtle!!

  • Beautiful... Thank you for sharing. Def. makes me think about adding one to my own yard. :)

  • OMG that turtle is so cute, but how do you prevent him from eating the goldfish?

  • very relaxing

  • I was going to ask the same question @tinajax1 asked. I feel bad for your turtle because it looks like it doesn't have a place to get out of the water. It may just be that you didn't show that part.

  • @KudzuJungle thats what i was thinking poor turtle, my turtle loves his rock to sunbathe

  • I too am a big fan of the above ground ponds. Nothing that sweet though.. Nice work, I am sure others have asked but... does the turtle eat the fish? Its amazing... Love the off the deck style.. I would get a lotus;)

  • finally a pond video with soothing music and not loud and obnoxious

  • Lovely back yard my friend. Awesome job, everything looks happy including the plants.

  • I was wondering where your turtle gets out to bask? I read that turtles have to get out everyday to totally dry and bask so they don't get shell diseases.

  • I love your video- I have watched it over and over. Does your pond take a lot of work to maintain, or do your skippy filters make it relatively easy?

  • @iconicdog Skippy Filter makes it super easy. i do not clean this filter. in winter i just let it run. in spring/summer i put water hyacinth on top to add additional filter power. The only cleaning i do is scooping out fallen leaves from the pond and in spring i add Barley and Peat Extract to help dissolve sediment. This year i am going to add Microbe-Lift Sludge Away as i have a shallow gravel bottom. My water is very clear and i can see the bottom easily which is 3 feet down. Go with Skippy!

  • @brimi925

You have sold me. Next spring I will put in a skippy. I already have a wine barrel fountain set up, so it will be a piece of cake. Do you do any water changes, or does the skippy keep things under control without that?

  • @brimi925

Did you put all of those fish in there or did they have babies?

  • You have to love little fat turtle's

  • I think your turtle wants some fish

  • way cool love your pond.ps love the turtle.

  • way cool love your pond.

  • Excellent work.

What kind of turtles are they ?

Do they bask, or do they need to bask.

    Thank you in advance.

  • you must be rich! I also see a swimming pool! Cool!

  • thats like thbest pond i seen nice set up.

are you planning to breed your diamondback?

  • i have yard envy :O)

  • wow man your whole yard is absolutely beautiful, looks like a lot of hard work, but totally worth it. That has to be such a nice peaceful little hangout for you! This is a true inspiration for me, and I would love to replicate it or do something similar. My only question is how does that turtle not devour all those fish you have in there? And, what kind of turtle is that?

  • turtle didn't eat or kill ur koi ?thx

  • Turtle soooo cuteeee.

  • cant wait to feed my fish like that plenty!! still running in the pond :(

    Great pond!

  • Nice setup! I want to do something similar, but have some questions. How did you use the rebar? I've never tried anything like this and I want to make sure I'm doing it right. I'm assuming that I will have to drill holes through each piece of wood individually, and thread the rebar though. should I pack the extra space with cement/mortar or sand? How deep in the ground should the rebar go? my quick measurements of my pond will be 4x10, 2 feet deep.

  • @MrACagle I bought an 18" speedbor drill bit from lowes. ( use a 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch depending on what size rebar you will use) You can do it the way that u mentioned but i didnt have the patience and stacked and drilled through a few at a time. Being that yours is only gonna be 24 inches deep and 10 foot long,..u can do that with few worries. How deep to go? I dont have a scientific answer. But you could get the precut 48" rebar and sledgehammer it 2 feet down if your soil allows.

  • what a cute turtle. ;)

  • Gorgeous!

  • its so beautiful.

  • did all your fish grow in that pond since they were small?

  • very very nice...

  • Wicked! an awesome garden

  • @TheRyansteven thanks! glad you like it. it is very relaxing.

  • just wondering, where are you located that your water lettuce grow so well? do they live year round?

  • @boomlightsout shreveport, louisiana. it dies when winter arrives.

  • @EarSake check out my turtle pond with landscape bricks. She has not escaped and cannot climb out. her basking island is in the middle.

  • *_* wow very nice work

  • How much did the wood cost?

I would love biulding one of they but I thought it would be too expensive.

  • this is so beautiful....looks very peaceful!

  • this is just beautiful....looks very peaceful!

  • does that turtle ever eat the other fish?

  • @TheJokersAccomplicetyhe turtle lives in its own place. I watch it while it is in there to make sure it doesn't try and eat them. I feed her so many silversides, shrimo, nd reptomin that she doesn't pay the goldfish much attention

  • oh that makes since :)

  • I love it.

    Sell me some water lettuce,Please.

    Alan in Alabama

  • @allalan We have had the coldest winter in 15-20 years so all of the water lettuce died. I put a few small pieces in an aquarium. If they survive I will send you some. One plant will turn into 10 in a very short time. Multiplies faster than water hyacinth!!

  • About 5 years ago I had 3 dozen.

I should bought them in and put them in

    containers in the window.

I took them to a chinese food place

for their garden.Thinking I could get

some back in the spring. They sold the place and took the water garden out.

I didn't know. Anyways even one would be nice.

Sometimes they sell at tradeday in May. Thanks

  • Wait and see if they multiply this Spring.

    Hopefully I will move then.

    Thanks for the replies.

Did The turtle make it alright?

  • lol. that turtles the star. great job.

  • @telemarker77 Thanks. I focused too much on the turtle, i think. but i am gld you liked it!

  • I love this.

I am thinking about a water wheel

with mine.I would have to put netting over the pond because river critters would

come over for midnight fish dinner.

  • @allalan Most critters cannot get to your fish if you have straight sides and good water depth.

  • Its amazing~♥

  • This is amazingly beautiful and peaceful. One day I want to have enough money to have something like this. Just.. breathtaking

  • @eternalfury12 Thank you! I plan to build a bigger one similar to this for my turtles. It will take me months but I will post a vid when i get it done.

  • I need help...where did you put the filter at? Plus do you put it inside the pond? on the side of the wood? I just need help with the filter with the wood pond. please

  • The single Quiet One Pump sits directly in the middle bottom sitting on top of a brick to keep it from sucking in gravel . A 1 inch flexible tube runs to the top just below water surface where it connects to a "T" connector at the bottom.( it is hidden under the top cedar boards.) The upper part of the "T" has flexible tubing running to each barrel/skippy filter out at the edge. If this isn't clear, shoot me another question. This filter works GREAT!!!

  • I got everything perfect! Thanks! I will upload mah pictures/video of mah pond next month!

  • WOW! WOW! WOW! SOOOO COOL! This is something I would really want for my 2 snappers one day. You're so awesome for doing this! Those turtles are so adorable and its amazing how he was swimming to eat those fish!

I can only dream about something like that for now. But I'm gettin a nice big 100+ aquarium this christmas so it's a step in the right direction.

Are there any lights under the water?

  • @zxeros Yes, at night the lights come on. There are 3. A blue, orange, and green one. They look really cool and you can watch the fish swim above them. It does not look good on video. I tried to make one, but it didn't work. Glad you like it so much.

  • I have a little yellow belly terrapin and a soft shell turtle. I love them. sofet shell bites but yellow belly is cool.

  • i love how social terrapins are!

  • Oh ok I see I just figured you might have to vacum the pond out every once and awhile to keep the water good. Besides just running the filters. Sweet

  • Is that need to be cleaned at all besides the filters? If so how offten?

  • I don't really clean the filters. They are "skippy style" with water hyacinth and water lettuce on top to assist.. When the leaves fall I scoop em out with a net. Because I have a gravel bottom I add Pond-Zyme with Barley to help break down debris. It doesn't take much to maintain.

  • Very sweet you just gave me more ideas to put more fish tanks lol

    Very nice

    5-5*

  • just seen it on the side ill have a goosey at it now.

  • no way sick set ups you have, get a vid of the 1000 gallon i would love to see it man.good vid

  • did u put dat turtle in the pond yourself?can he climb out to bask?

  • The turtle does not live in here. She was just "visiting". She lives in a 1000 gallon enclosure with an island in the middle for her to bask on. She is kept in brackish water. The freshwater goldfish enclosure is just to give her a change of scenery and some excitement!

  • Awesome. Come over here and finish my project. :)

  • Wow. Just wow.

  • That's beautiful.
