My son cannot eat solid food due to health reasons, this will definitely help him. I think this could really help invalids as well as babies. Thanks for the great idea.
EXCELLENT:. since my baby start to eat solids. I fead him this way.. please send more things just for inspiration what to give him.. I end up some times without idea.. thank you
What Dan does is great BTW and inspiring people to eat well is important. However the truth should stand up to being debated and be stronger for it in the end, whatever that truth is.
I am all for adults eating Raw vegan or whatever healthy choices they make , but it is difficult / dangerous for growing children , esp if you get it wrong. I don't want to know anyone trying to do the right thing but you cannot afford to get nutrition wrong. A friends child was brought up vegan and was considerably smaller an weaker at all ages compared to all his friends. A sample of one, and maybe the parents did not do it properly, but a health wholefood diet is much harder to get wrong.
@SpatialMonk you are absoluttly right with vegan style of eating. but with raw. my child eat mostlly mixed. little bit of slow cooked food and mostlly raw. he is 8 mont. extremlly strong. and big.. very vital. full of energy and look from doctor opinion he is big like some one and half year old children. very bright littlle boy. with vegan style no one get much of nutritions any how.
Please do more videos on baby food and information on pregnancy and raising children raw vegan! Thanks for this, Dan! Do you think someone should keep quiet about raising their children raw vegan? Sometimes society feels that it's 'unhealthy'. :/ Thanks! (: xx
Nurse as long as possible. It is not desirable to start giving the baby food as young as 4 month old. Breastfeeding 100 % til the baby turns 1 year is a high optimal way. A long the way the little one can of course get carrots, apple, banana etc to bite into to, The after the baby starts eating more real meals, keep on breastfeeding as long as you both like. That is the high wibe way of doing it. :-)
Have you ever seen the boski you must be the food Jesus we have a one year old and we've been going raw for a couple months and you are right it will change your life for good keep up the good work and spreading the good word
I got fed organic raw baby food up to age 4. and my mom told me i got a orange nose from the carrots lol i still got to eat dairy when i got older all the way up to 28. but now im off it again and i never felt better :) raw forever
This video comes a bit close to medical advice. It is one thing for adults to make a choice to eat only vegan raw foods. However, young children especially under the age of two have different nutritional needs to support brain growth and development. Take great care making this type of video Dan, you don't want to present yourself as a dietitian or medical professional. At least put a disclaimer on the start of the video that you are NOT a RD,MD etc and that this is only your opinion.
Exactly what I did with my 1st child (from 6 mths old) only fruit. No apples. But with my 2nd and 3rd I knew better breastfeeding only for 8 and 10 mths and NO BLENDING anymore but foods that can be scratched onto a spoon: Banana, pear, papaya, avo, mango - no oxidation! and takes no time or preservation.
@baum7des7lebens7 Oh I understood what Dan was saying about citrus helping various fruits and fresh veggies not change color. I do it all the time, but I was thinking of a tiny baby. Dan knows that. But some new Mother's may not understand. I was thinking more along the line of some new mothers feeding a new baby full on orange juice or something. Most have the common sense not to do that to a new baby, but you never know. We love Dan!! He's the best!! :-)
When my kids were babies, I had a baby food grinder. I would take fresh bananas and avacado and grind that up together and feed that to them. Lots of Minerals and nutrition.
@cherry0202 Do you take vitamins supp.? That may be it. Sometimes foods turn your urine colors like beets. Eat those bad boys and you're sure to have red urine :)!!! It is also good what Cherry0202 said.
@cheska576 I like the idea of more baby food recipes however I would like more ephasis on the IMPORTANCE and BENEFITS of eating raw prior, durring and feeding your baby raw. My wife and I are more than likely trying to create a baby within 2 years and my wife isnt as hardcore about the raw food lifestyle as I am. May be if she hears more of the good reasons to be more wise about this situation. PLEASE :) and Thank you Dan :)
@cheska576 I found with raising cats that the healthier they eat the cleaner their litter boxes are since they utilize more and don't need to poop out as much unhealthy fillers... so I would think it would be the same with a baby eating freshly home made, organic, bio-available, nutrient packed fruit and vegetable pures and things of the like rather than stuff you buy at the super market..
while i was watching this vid , there was a cow and gate advertisment being shown to the right of you ....... i think that your advert is much more compelling ... im going with the dan :) - it all seems all cuty cushiony , having milk from a local cow , but that milk is for the calf of the cow , and white beans that have a similar consistancy to soya beans can b grown in cooler climbs , so there is no need to ship in coconuts from miles away , and the beans can b grown outside or in a poly tunel
Anything that has to do with baby food and health I would LOVE to learn! I have a 2 year old, unfortunately I wasn't educated in raw food health back then. I would like to start next little one out right (he's coming in a January!). Thank you Dan!
people spend so much $ on those jars of HFCS and dyes and who knows what else and all you need to do is smash a pear and voila pure baby food! TY DAN!
Thank you for the recommendation on the tomato and basil puree for salad dressing. I'm sitting here now, eating my first live food meal Saturday night 10/22/11, made a nice salad and pureed tomato with basil in vita mix, and it's certainly ALIVE. Actually love it, thanks again. Now I need to grow more basil! LOL By the way, you are incredibly handsome! Just had to mention that. Love Jeff
Agreed, while out at a barbecue I seen parents trying to force their children to eat-reason being once they put away all the cooked food they didn't want to get it out again----i get sick to my stomach to see it if only they would keep fresh fruits and veggies it wouldn't be such a hassle for them and heck often times the child can then feed/manage itself------its no wonder people become obese forgetting to listen to their own bodies message and not how they were programmed------

I think Citrus juices may be a little bit too much on the tummy's of the tiny babies. So I think you are right....make it a serving at a time.
sandyabernathy 4 months ago
@sandyabernathy If you add only one spoon of (ripe)orange juice to one blended pear, the mix will not turn brown so easily.
