Ran away from Mich in l961, to Falling Waters, W. Va. I fell in love with a girl named Judy Huff, and we both loved this song. The nostalgie is knocking me off this chair, cause its the first time I've heard it since.....Hello out there, Judy. I left for college in the fall, back in Michigan, and we never saw each other again.
County music of the 40s-50s-60s was the best. I listen to song all the time back in the 60s. I was finally able to find this on one of his albums. I also like "Speak to Me." RIP
My mother knew Carl Belew back in the day. I remember listening to this song a million times plus some. She (as well as I) also loved Chrystal Chandelier, Masquerade Party, Speak To Me, What's He Doing In My World, and many many more. I have most of his music now transferred to mp3 format so I can finally hear them again with ease.
This is the original version from 1962. My dad brought home this 45 and I remember playing it over and over again. I still have the 45 in my collection.
By the way, this song peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Country Charts on November 29, 1962. As good as this song was, I'm real surprised that it didn't cross over to the Pop Charts.
@zaaritha That song as well as 20 more by Carl Belew 1958-1960 can be found on (oldtimecountry com) go to opry star spotlight click on it and you can listen to them on Realplayer and save to library
