Thanks for the response via email Tom. I wanted to post for anyone else that the 2008 iDrive is CCC based and the resolution is 640x240. It doesn't look likely that I'll be able to retrofit this with a CiC 1280x480 screen. (for VGA fun) "Connectors (as well as coding) are different, you cannot retrofit a CIC screen to a CCC vehicle"  I'll have to make due with what I've got. (cool enough)

Do you know what my screen resolution is for a July 2008 335i iDrive? I read that the NEW iDrive screen's are 1280 x 480.  I heard this VSM has open wire VGA inputs. I'd like to know what my screen res is so I can tinker with the best quality input. If it's really low and not worth the effort, I'll stick with the composite input.
