i had this done to day ... i was awake and it did not hurt at the time of the op ...but it sure as hell hurts now ...time will make it better ...the results will be worth the pain ....

@beerrunner81 I know your comment is nearly a year old, but to overcome it...think about what it will be like, to never deal with cavities or tooth pain again.

i had this done, was given an IV-felt nothing and am completely happy with it-although i have to say it's scarylooking here! and no it doesn't set off any metal detectors, lol

And also infection..I make these for a living.The only downfall with implants is that they dont move,there solid ,and in place.Where normal teeth float and move.Some implants if not installed correctly cause serious discomfort untill the surrounding teeth adjust.
