I've got a Ron Ewing baritone Dulcimer almost exactly like that one, and while I am amazed they the quality and tone, I've never gotten so many sounds out of mine with all of those techniques. I've got more to strive for!
My latest piece I'm working on is Halleluiah from the movie Shrek.
Stephen Seifert loving your dulcimer playing is like Hendrix loving the way you play the Stratocaster or Coltrane enjoying your playing the tenor sax. Wow!
Hi! I have been making instruments, and already have a midrange dulcimer. I was wondering what lengths (in inches) you have on your dulcimer from the tuning pins to the string anchors at the foot of the baritone dulcimer? I would like to make one of these as well :) Revan Delkaoth
that was really nice, very bluesy i really like it :) but it being six strings and baritone kiiiiinda made it sound like an accoustic guitar but with a little more twang (if that makes sense) keep up the great work :)
Wow! This amazes me and makes me want to play the dulcimer as well. I play the 'hommel' or 'epinette', its European counterpart. Please tell me: who makes this kind of instrument?
Rad! You're like one of the only people i've seen so far that actually uses the wooden slide thing...don't remember what it's called lol. Rock on man!
Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some 1920's trading cards of musical instruments, including the Dulcimer

baritone? sounds pretty high. are dulcimers easy to play?
StopTheMoti0n 2 years ago
Dulcimers are very easy to play. But nothing is easy to play /like that/.
threemilechild 2 years ago
baritone, or even bass guitars doesn't sound low either, if played in high positions - note that the guy here quite rarely picks open strings :)
