i think i found an explanation. so since "jeremy fisher" returns from the "great war" he brings back a present for salad fingers. after he eats JF he leaves the house. upon return, another salad fingers is there and then the 2nd salad fingers eats the 1st, repeating what happened earlier. the only reason there would be two salad fingers because within his twisted mind, the whole episode didnt really happen cus it would just be an endless cycle. the ending scene is just a part of his imagination.
