  • In this device, you will lose 50 percent of gold in the first stage (upper part of the grid)!

  • tubecat these are in response to what you wrote

  • anyone want to email me about more info you may do so at floorguy390@yahoo.com. And no I do not charge for any info. I am always open for suggestions or comments

  • plug the bottom end with a rock and fill hose with water. then place suction "top" end in the water. Then remove rock from end of hose. suction should start. Dredge away... The ridges in the hose act as natural riffles traping gold. But for peace of mind I do put the bottom of the hose on the flare of my sluice just in case... no loud motors, no gas, nothing heavy, BUT THE GOLD"

  • check out gravity dredge.. I just bought 100' roll of 3" corex solid tube from Home Depot cost $52.71 plus tax for the hose and 3 reducers. I am going to make 3 33' foot sluices. here is how it works. the stream must have 1' of drop for every 10' of hose. and good flow

  • needs side jets/sprayers, just a thought. That is basically what I am making, but mine will be 18" wide with two 2000 gph electric pumps, hooked up to a mini generator. nine hours of sluicing. fun, fun, fun etc.

  • How long does it run? My electric Highbanker runs off of a 12v automotive battery that weighs 60lbs! My marine 2000 gallon per hour bilge pump only lasts for about 5-6 hrs. How do you transport your battery? I've had troubles moving mine.

  • @Gaussgundesigner it can run up to 10 hours on a quite new and fully charged automotive battery. The weight is ofcourse a problem with that battery. Im planning on trying some nimh rechargeable batteries instead. I may also try to run it of a solar panel, over a smaller battery.

  • i like it but i noticed ur losing water(and possibly flour golds) out ur scrubber box(thats not good).Slightly bigger holes would work well and a security flange at the end (a quarter inch high )just in case.Otherwise, I think ur on to somthin good here.

  • I see material falling out of the one end. Are you afraid of losing gold? How long will the battery run that pump? Can you attach a solar panel for recharging? Thanks for posting the video.

  • I have made some changes since so the distance between the levels isnt so high. With a standard car battery the pump can run for days, and with a smaller battery I'm using now combined with a solar panel I would probably never need to charge it. Right now I am drawing a blue print on how to make it all foldable, so stay tuned!

  • I was talking about the top level having a side missing and material falling out to the ground not being processed.

  • Aha okej, thats really the idea. It's not good to have gravel in too many different sizes to run through the high banker. The greatest nuggets you can find in sweden is no larger than 10 millimeters, therefore I have a sieve on the top to let the small grains go through and the bigger ones to fall out.

  • Really cool! I thought of just running a hose with a funnel at the end and placing it in a swift current and placing the end into my long tom and let it run down while I feed it with high bank material. I've done alot of experimentation with gold prospecting equipment.. the looks I get are inquisitive and comical, but Einstein once quoted something like, "if at first, the idea doesn't sound absurd, then there is no hope for it". You'll never know until you try! Cool beans on the pump!

  • Sounds good. Your technique is actually a really old an proven one. No need of any hightec equipment; the gold doesn't know any difference :D

  • Excellent. I go to Ädelfors tomorrow to learn how to wash gold at Mr. Guldströms plant. Just recreational....

Have You drawn and build the highbanker Yourself?

    Regs from Copenhagen

  • Great! It's the best place to learn, and ofcourse to find gold :D I've built the highbanker myself from scratch, though the overall design is not my invention. It is quite unusual to use a 12V electric pump, but I love it

  • The electric pump is a nice touch. No noisy gasolin-engine. I'm sure You'll come up with a few more improvements after using it for some time.

Appreciate if You have the time to put up a video or two more over time.

Now I'm of to the trainstation, headed for Ädelfors in a goldrush. *sss*
