The boundaries are concerned with keeping things in their place. When matter is out of place (ex: a jewish girl dating an italian man) this crosses the boundaries which is also equated with impurity. Impurity= condemnation from God.

God created the laws of the Pentateuch to keep the Israelites separate from all other people. These strict boundaries keep the Israelites away from other influences that may cause them to stray from Yhwh. It makes complete sense that many Modern day Jews are still strict, they have struggled for so long to preserve their culture, it is laid out clearly in the Torah, disobeying = foolish

I used to completely deny God and religion as well because of all the conflict between beliefs. But if you really dig down deep, there are many fundamental factors that surprisingly expose similarities among all religions.
