Not underrated - he was dropped by CBS because he could not sell records - fun songs -simple lyrics and instrumentals, but he ain't no Steve Perry or Bradley Delp!
A, G, D, A. Rinse and repeat. Its amazing how incredible vocals can mask what is essentially a very simple song. Love artists like this that can create art out of simplicity. Keith Richards was a master of this, and so was Eddie Money.
Not to pull out this tired old chestnut, but there isnt any "catchy" decent music like this nowadays. Being only 25 you would think I would like my generations music but seriously I cant force myself to like that auto tuned garbage, even the rock sucks ass. I swear most new "rock" on mtv consists of 32 year old music/art school grads that are trying to be bad on purpose or something, like to be ironic.
@Boston1775 Sad for your youth and your generation. All I can say is I hear you man, I feel your pain. I was very blessed, born in 1960, with an older brother and sister, and they were both into buying new vinyl all the time. I grew up on Joplin, Cream, The Doors, Hendrix, Stones, Led Zep, Dylan, Beatles, The Who, etc etc etc..... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!! At least you have youtube and can watch all this stuff, not quite live but very damn good.
The Mexican army caught up to 9 people. Thier execution is in two days, and I'm going because they deserve it for evan looking at the dislike button on this song, much less consider doing anything with it.
He is a good artist, but the reason he's only appreciated for a few songs is that only a few charted high. BTW, I think this is a remake of a Who song.
The idea is as follows: staging design or piple design tarp opaque covered solid hangars with an intermodal parked beside it for parts. x all the air ports in the world. Sell to the rich.
walkin through daytona beach in 07 and stumbled upon an eddie money concert...for free!!! one hell of an artist. got to meet him too. down to earth person. keep rockin eddie!
Cant you see that long white rope Hangin from the hangmans tree? Take the restless horse tie my hands, of course - Tell my mother that Im finally free. Let me die like a man no one understands Let me pray Let a poor man pray! Smack that horse in the ass. With my last, dyin gasp, my brother could hear me say, Gimme some water! Cause I shot a man on the Mexican border. Cool, cool water
@upisblackblackisdog: Boarder or border??? I suppose that he could be a "boarder" on the AZ border. Then again, maybe you should be put down there, with an English professor.
Me again. To add a note, Eddie Money an NYC homeboy, is one of the most underrated ROCK-N-ROLL artists of our time, along with the likes of Pat Travers, Warren Zevon, and the list goes on...............
@mikethemachinist1 i agree weird how eddie had 11 hits but the audience he's played too it's almost as if he only had 1 or 2 hits i don't know where they went and why.
@miketheblueeagle And the people who grew up in the 80s listening to his 80s shit have little or no memory of songs like this. They were too young to have remembered his early stuff, which I think was better.
@miketheblueeagle i'll agree eddie was huge. i saw him live in the heyday and it was incredible. saw him again in 2001 and he spoke all the words to his songs and let the audience do most of the singing. still rocked my butt off and had fun but it just wasnt eddie money. what a shame.
@mikethemachinist1 The Money Man had plenty of radio hits and had alot of press coverage , PR and so on to be sure. He was a local favorite here in Cleveland back in the day. Hell of a showman and musician too. Hasnt made it to the Rock Hall YET, and I hope he does while still living. Its his destiny, and would be a great tribute to the "Man".
@mikethemachinist1 ..I have to agree ...One of my faves..and I also LOVE Pat Travers..Have seen him in concert like 5 times and also had the pleasure of hangin with him and the band in Reno nevada,,in 1978..played POOL and got drunk and even made out with LARS! hahahahaha.."good times"
@mikethemachinist1 Nice to see a Pos. post from a fan , not negative drool from the kids. None of these musicians/bands are underrated. Premier Performers for their era, Grand Funk Railroad, April Wine, Mad Dogs & Englishmen, Bread, Pure Prairie League, list will always go on. They've went separate ways, occasionally regroup, play '60's & '70's hits for a time. Look 'em up here. Wikipedia, always an update there.

@johnbruder01 Hey man, they not only dropped it .......they poured a bucket of water on it, kicked dirt all over it and stamped it out until it was all exstinguished......
I heard he lived in Riverside Ca. And that he used to look over his fence to watch Chuck Norris teaching in his back yard. (Chuck Norris isn't afraid of the dark - the dark is afraid of Chuck Norris!) Ha Ha lol
eddie was actually the cop! He worked for the "Broklyn" police department in 1974 before they merged and became NYPD! In 1978 he took his singing career full time! His first hit was Baby Hold On!
yeah im sorry for that, i haven't think so much about that he says "killed" a few times, i apologize, i should have now that , because Eddie is my fav artist of all time.
Actually his first hit was Baby hold on in 1977. His original name is Edward Mahoney and he was a Brooklyn police officer before leaving for San Francisco in 1976 to jump start his singing career. He is one of the most approachable performers today! I have several autographs, pics, and have actually had short conversations with him!
@wicccanmomma that's correct. I remember being 3 and 4 years old listening to both tunes in the back of my mom's LTD Brougham. That car had FM STEREO and 4 great speakers! these songs sounded great in the back of that old car!!!!!!!!!!!
I missed this the first time around. I heard this on Deep Tracks on Sirius. I LOVE this song. This shows Eddie talents promise, not hte novelty MTV bullshit like Shakin. He was on the same level of Bad Company.
