Some people flip out and won't quit screaming, some people faint, some people can't quit shaking long enough to call 911 and others go blank and their body goes through the motions of what they've been trained to do in an emergency. I'm not into blaming victims usually but the brutality of the crime tells me that it was retaliation. I think he must have done something really terrible to piss off his neighbor so much that he'd put so much effort into the murder. The mother's reaction also sends up a huge red flag. She does not seem surprised or upset that her son died so violently, she even giggled during the call.
