NICKHAM16- i feel i must inform you that what you are talking about is anarchist music, not punk. as punk is a literal style of music. the ramones and the sex pistols did define what punk music was. charicterised by distorted power chords and constant downstrokes. the music you are refering to is most comparable the modern day "indie" music. if you can prove me wrong by giving a name of a punk band that that came before the ramones that does this "style of music" known as punk rock. thank you.

and the dictators. they were around in 1973. ramones were 1974. and also probably the biggest band on that list: The MC5. they were around from 1964 to 1972, clearly before the ramones. im not trying to prove you wrong, i just wanted to tell you there were bands like the ramones way before the ramones.
