The Pug is one of the most higienic dog there is. He actually needs to be taken care of every single day or he may have serious problems. I wouldnt allow my child to do that, but dont claim its disgusting or anything.
@MrBreakALeg Yes, I do know that, I'm not retarded, I have a strong science background and work in healthcare. The human mouth is a disgusting place. But a dog likes to lick its own arse, and therefore has a small to moderate amount of faeces on its tongue. I wouldn't let my baby lick faeces. Humans may slobber over each other, but at least our mouth cultures are moderately similar, and we don't eat poo. That's also my upbringing talking though.
@RachyRooM A simple exercise for you...if you have a small Wicklow on your finger nail, if you lick it, in a matter of days it will be infected badly but if you allow you dog to do it, nothing, no infection at all! Dogs mouths are way cleaner than any humans by far..the `similarity` you speak of is make believe...we as humans may as well lick faeces as our mouths are far more unhealthy.

A puppy can pass as many as 15,000 eggs per gram of faeces. Like I said hun, I understand our mouths are not clean, or "unhealthy" as you put it (untrue: we aren't making ourselves sick 24/7!!) but instead of thinking about 'numbers of bacteria', think 'cross contamination'.

It's also likely that this dog spends most of its time indoors and thus is not exposed to other dogs which may have worms. The chance of this baby being infected with toxocariasias from this dog is very slim. You're really making a mountain out of a molehill.

@FunNotNuts kids share germs all the time and it helps their immunities grow stronger. if i saw my kid chew on something that was in another kids mouth i wouldn't freak out. at the same time i do believe in sanitizing certain things and keeping a clean house hold. it's just when people over do it or freak out over a you tube video i find it ridiculous. kids are going to be germy and dirty and bruised scraped.. covered in mud. it's great. they are not made of glass!

since we are throwing around facts, there still are illnesses humans catch from their pets and dogs are no exception. If the child put the mike into another child's mouth would that be ok? No. Germs are germs. A small amount of the right ones are good. Too much of a bad one and ....
We catch more things from cats than dogs however.

@FunNotNuts kids share germs all the time and it helps their immunities grow stronger. if i saw my kid chew on something that was in another kids mouth i wouldn't freak out. at the same time i do believe in sanitizing certain things and keeping a clean house hold. it's just when people over do it or freak out over a you tube video i find it ridiculous. kids are going to be germy and dirty and bruised scraped.. covered in mud. it's great. they are not made of glass!

Shut up about sanitary. You know how many ammunities children build up by eating dirt, eating boogers, sharing with there dogs. Ever wonder why germaphobes get sick so easy. Lets all share with our puppies. :)

@PainlessGossip hell ya man right on!!! seriously. i see more and more sick kids with allergies now more than ever. why? cuz we OVER sanitize every damn thing around them from birth and then they get wimpy immune systems. WTF, happened to letting our kids come home covered in mud with a jar full of tadpoles?? we are ruining our children with clorox. i think every kid should grow up with a pet or at least be exposed to them and mud, frogs, all the fun stuff!! :)
