I have charlies autograph on his book he wrote elvis and me. he was a great man! the man singing this is lou vito from the elvis impersonator show in TN.
Elvis Presley remains the greatest singer, entertainer, who ever lived. In addition to being the most successful recording artist, Gospel artist, all time Concert SELL OUT record holder for eight years straight, most successful muscial act (ratings) ever to appear on TV, and was the ONLY actor whose every movie (and yes in the 60's there were some tiresome scripts) made a financial profit. Even these 34 years after his death he STILL outsells 99.9% of any other 'artist". Thanks for posting!
Elvis was the only singer (and I don't mean todays digitially enhanced cardboard cutouts with backup dancers and million dollar special effects) that could take a song like "Happy Birthday" and make it a million seller.
Take off "Elvis blinkers"....either "blinkers" is a slang term which is unknown to me OR you meant to say "blinders". If you meant to say blinders I would encourage you to keep the word "blinders" out of statements include Stevie Wonder who is blind..
It amazes me how many "people" are so offended and/or feel the need to comment in response to factually correct comments about Elvis. They always attempt undermine Elvis' success/talent.
@JeffSchrembs 'Blinkers' is what we English people call the things that horses wear to stop them looking sideways. It was you, i am afraid to point out, that included the word 'Blinders' and then with horrendous irony accused me of using this as a means to offend blind people. I am certain blind people couldn't care less about the fact that 'Blinders' are called 'Blinders'. You, my good man, have an acute case of 'Political correctness'...insult someone twice daily until symptoms cease.
May i also point out, that i was far from 'undermining' Elvis' talent, it was in fact you who was undermining the talent of everyone else who has ever sung 'Happy Birthday'.
Definitely is Elvis. Nobody who impersonates Elvis ever gets it quite right. This is exactly right. Listening to Elvis sing is so beautiful but just listening to him talk was almost as good.
This definitely is Elvis talking and singing. This recording is from the 12th December 1976, only a few months before Elvis died. By this time he was well out of it on the drugs and just getting him out of bed and to the stage was a job in itself. A lot of his regular "Memphis Mafia" had left him by this point, as well as a few of his original band who had been loyal since 1969. They all saw him falling apart and couldn't face watching him kill himself anymore.
I hate to say it but it doesn't sound like Elvis to me either. At least not the speaking part. The singing was hard to tell because of everyone else singing.
A belated happy Birthday to AngelEyes1943....Hope you had a great time with family and friends.I wish you many more happier ones to come with a big hug from here to you...Take care, love and peace always!
grammaelvis...wishing you a very Happy Birthday honey.I hope you had a wonderful day with all your loved ones and special friends around you. God Bless you and I hope you have many more wonderful birthdays in the future as well. Hugs and love kElvis.
Got to meet Charlie Hodge shortly b4 his death. He shared some special stories about ELVIS and I'll always cherish these and I hope to see both ; charlie and elvis one day to relate these stories to them. am really looking forward to it...
Charlie had love and respect for his friend and visa versa. They were a great friendship team on stage and in life and I have a heck of a lot more for respect for Charlie than I do other members of the MM
charlie hodge lived with elvis at graceland for 17yrs.. he didnt just pop in and out his life he actually lived with him at his home, it was his home too for all those yrs.. it dont sound like elvis's voice to me, sorry dont mean to offend
well im not sure now as well but...i probably think that this song doesnt sounds like elvis voice coz it has poor quality...and..well...i dont know..i got it like a real elvis record...and it is old...
@jtdc86 It is definitely Elvis singing. The reason for the poor quality is that it is an "audience recording". Someone in the audience managed to sneak a tape recorder into the Vegas showroom and recorded the show. There are many, many audience recordings of Elvis shows available as bootleg CDs.
@EnchantingZena charlie also got hit by a police flashlight after elvis gave linda thompsons brother sam a new lincoln in the face . charlie new where he was living after that ! and also learned to keep his mouth shut,
. he always give s people gifts that dont deserve them he said , wel elvis felt angrs at this . he never knew charlie NEEDED ANYTING OR HED GIVE IT TO HIM
NOT ELVIS
