@DonTheTurtleDude Because if you can play the tabs to this song with 80% proficiency on an acoustic guitar at any sorority house in any College Town, USA, you are almost guaranteed sex with a heterosexual female for that evening. Our forefathers of Led Zeppelin were looking out for future generations without letting this get as stale and overplayed as Deep Purple licks. Send them a thank-you note.
Love the led, started listening to rival sons and they sound great but im not impressed by their blatant riff and sound theft from zeppelin. No one can touch led zeppelin

the term 'underrated' means this one's not given the credit it actually deserves. Songs like Kashmir, Stairway and Immigrant Song are known by everyone who knows Zeppelin , Out On The Tiles is not.
@GrimJoeReaper come on... you stereotypical condescending youtuber looking for a chance to correct someone, obviously he knew that, but did you know you spelled "were" * wrong? Oh yeah, and "they". *
Raky Maky, thanks for the lyrics, I,ve loved this song since i was about 8 and never knew some of the words. I'm almost 47 now, and I can now sing along! Thank you.

@1MichealVincent led Zeppelin were the yardbirds after clapton and beck broke off jimmy page was in the first yardbirds then robert plant and then john bohnam and john paul jones and then just changed there name to Led Zeppelin...
@1MichaelVincent Ya Maybe, but one thing is for sure, is they made the songs there own, they put there own genius into it. Remember alot of band's did this in the 70's The Stones, Humble Pie, Jimi Hendrix I could go on and on. It is always Zep who gets the rap for it though.
@1MichaelVincent you know the yardbirds broke up before this and guess who was the guitarist Jimmy page THE guitarist of this bang should I also teach you your ABC's
Can't qutie understand the way people argue over which is the 'best' Led Zep song; I think they're missing the point. A song is good if it speaks to you and echoes your own thoughts and feelings... there is no 'best'... unless you think you have only one 'best' thought or emotion? What makes Zep 'great' is that ALL of their songs (with the possible exception of 'The Crunge') speak to so many of us, so intimately!
Rock on Zeppelin! (and thanks to Raky Maky for posting 'em!)
@theseustoo wrong. the crunge is a sick song and shows that the band isnt confined to one or two time sigs. I guess you have to be a musician to appreciate that.
@YSEVERYNAMETAKENGOD That I don't like 'The Crunge' doesn't make me wrong, or you 'right'. It just means we have different tastes. I'm well aware that Zeppelin use more than one time signature; what I like most about Zep is their willingness to experiment ('The Crunge' was, IMHO, a less successful experiment). BTW, I AM a musician... or do you expect EVERY muso to think like you before you call them a musician? I suppose you have to understand logic to appreciate that.
@theseustoo I agree, all Led Zeppelin songs speak to me. I do disagree on The Crunge though - I think that song, and the whole album, is awesome. Houses of the Holy is an epic album.
I used to be convinced that "Since I've Been Loving You" was it. Now I can't decide between "The Song Remains the same" and "Trampled Underfoot". I've had probably 20 favorites over the years, and I guess that's the point. This band didn't make music that can be rated in any conventional way. And yeah, I've spent a year or two feeling that "Dazed and Confused" was the best song ever, too.
Oh man, truly sorry to Keith, one of the other incredible drummers that we've lost, RIP Keith, and Bonzo. thx (x341) for the info. Hope to hook up with both of them when like Jimi said when "I'll meet you on the other side, don't be late!" they have got to be having one hexx of a jam session, hope I'm not late!! lol.
BroSlims31 comment, that's hilarious, yeh these guys just might make it ! haha, you ever hear the one where they said they yeh there gonna go over alright just like a led balloon, I bet that guy is still eating his words.
@SupernalOne that was saying A HELL OF ALOT cream were AWESOME live but zep just blew absolutely everybody off stage from day 1. its 1 reason they toured alone after a while
Such a great song. The thing about Zep is, so many of their songs are played out for me. But whenever I hear something like this, something that hasn't been played to death on classic rock radio my entire life, I realize what a truly great band they were. I don't ever ever need to hear "Rock and Roll" or "Stairway" again in my life, but this KICKS ASS.
@MckyMseNTarotCrds I agree. That's the tragic thing about FM radio.... it can kill your tastes for your favorite bands fast. The great thing about Zep is they have plenty of gems in their library that weren't pissed on by lame repetitive rock stations. I'm glad this wasn't one of them.
MY CHOICE LZ s' BEST SONG- Just try to follow Bonzo and John Paul Jones on this tune unlike any of there other tunes, it flat rocks, and although Plant and Page got all the glitter, they are two of the best rythm players ever in the business, and still get the least amount of notariety for what they did 4 zeppelin
I remember buying this album, "Led Zeppelin III," for 25 cents, at a moldy-old greenhouse flea market in Connecticut way back in the late 1970s. It smelled like moldy filth, but, it played lovely!!! Now, it smells as sweetly as it plays - LOVELY!!! :)
@martin2sax - Yes. Only 25 cents; and, I still have it. There aren't very many flea markets left around where I live, but, when there were, used albums were plentiful and inexpensive.
been listening to this song since about 1987 and had the III album and loved it especially that really trippy part you know what i mean.

@TheTvrulesthenation But of course you click on this video to post your comment, saying that you wanted Rory Gallagher's "out on the Tiles" When you could have taken that time and clicked on the right video instead of this one.
This song is one of Zeppelin's most aggressive rock songs. The pounding drums, along with the guitar and bass riffs, make "Out on the Tiles" what it is: a masterpiece.

Bonzo did more with one kick drum than most drummers do with 2...absolutely sick drumming on this tune.
