AGAIN! This is not Pink Floyd. This is Wright, Gilmour and friends.Notice the Lead Guitar player??? Thats Davids good friend who plays on all Davids Albums.David plays Rythem most of the time cause the guy sounds EXACTLY like David and is almost as good.....almost.
@DaytonaGary First off the good friend is Snowy White, 2nd David plays lead on all his songs abet Snowy does add some color on a few tunes. Snowy is good but hes no David. 3rd Snowy only played on this particular Pulse tour. He's had many friends including his brother Mark help him. oh and Mason is playing drums. so 3 out of 4 isn't bad. Sorry your posted just annoyed me LOL
@DaytonaGary It's Pink Floyd. You still have 3/4 of the classic lineup here (David Gilmour on guitars/vocals, Nick Mason on drums and the late Richard Wright on keyboards/occasional vocals). Roger Waters WASN'T Pink Floyd. David played all of the guitar parts on his and the Pink Floyd albums. Tim Renwick is playing the rhythm parts here. Roger needed THREE (at times FOUR) GUITARISTS to replicate what one Gilmour could do on dear ol' Roger's solo tours since 1999.
Since I was 16 Pink Floyd has been my #1 band. When Roger Quit the band, I was depressed for life. David NEVER regained his strength after leaving Floyd, as the Original band, with Roger. But I have to admit, as a hardcore Floyd fan, that this song ROCKS!!!! like no other....
a song from floyds last trip to Cleveland. Me, Nick, Al, Tom Thomas, Steve Seitz, Brad Hayes, my brother and his girlfriend at the time Kara were there. That is a hell of a crew we had there to see it!!!!!
@pariconinc1 -------I was there too, cold as shit out that night. Stones played that year, then they tore the stadium down. Cleveland was a blast then, now the flats are gone--building a casino for the old folks..
@granolachic28 JUst saw this posting... I didn't know how to look it up... Do you have any links to the Cleveland show? I can't find anything and I think that link might be wrong... Yea Cleveland has def taken a hit... the flats were a blast;; both sides. I remember when the streets were totally packed and you couldn't get a cab.
i keep finding proshot footage from the 1994 tour, iw onder where all this comes from. i think i've seen proshot footage froma t least 5 different concerts now, but always only one song. looks like all of the tour actually has been officially recorded? i'd love to get my hands on these tapes.
just check out my username....all the songs i know from pink floyd are GREAT and also their shows used to breathtakin.....that's the reason why they are the greatest band in the history of music....
Sigh I only wish that I could have seen the Floyd live. I'll be seeing Roger preform the Wall in November but its not the same. It hasn't been the same since The Wall (though The Final Cut was good, too). Too bad the rest of them couldn't take initiative in '83, which was the reason Roger wrote it on his own (Nick Mason said this himself). If they had worked together, the greatest band on earth would still be. But great album, great song.
It feels to me like this song was written about Roger waters.
It sounds like a soft hearted man(David Gilmour) begging almost, to a harder person than he , trying to please them and just being totally exhausted from trying so hard to please this person..
And reassuring this person that he can have anything he wants and own everything he sees.
was there ever a quality release of this version live on cd or even dvd? i cant seem to find one. and i like the live version better than the studio one.
@mooremuffin6 I love all Floyd...I mean all. But honestly Division Bell isn't the best. Check The Wall, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here or Animals-all a lot better. Or if you prefer the post Waters albums, most people agree (including Waters himself) that Momentary Lapse Of reason is better! But hey, everyone's different-and it is all great!!!

Every show David changed the lyric to "I'll do my best to please". The night I saw PF in May of 1994 when they played "Keep Talking" David Gilmour sang "my words were not so bright" instead of "my words won't come out right". Also on "High Hopes" he forgot to sing "the nights of wonder" line before the "with friend surrounding" and "the dawn mist glowing" lines before the lap steel solo. That's what makes a rock and roll show rock and roll is sometimes bands can make mistakes.
Gilmour openly admits he took parts from it. A lot of Division Bell quotes past Floyd and sometimes other artists too. The beginning of High Hopes? Fat Old Sun anyone?
Thank you very much, good evening to you, marry christmas!! and now let me play a song that I wrote about a conversation I had with Lucifer himself lol
