To me, this represents the sounds of 1984... :) Besides, most music from the '80s, so far as I know, has at lease ONE of these synthetic sounds..... :D I'm not an 80's kid, yet somehow........ I feel a little nostalgic..... :)

;D Muse made a whole album based on the book.... I think. Either that, or it's just one song, Upriseing, I forget. I have to read it yet, I love dystopians, and I'm not talking about the recent YA romance dystopians (Though The Hunger Games was good, the romance was a side plot) You know, stuff like Uglies and Skinned (retitled as Frozen), and all of the old ones like Brave New World.

This is a separate song from Jump. The name of the song is "1984" as is the name of the Album.

It is just one page long, full of sharp chords. Very nice to play on the piano, but even more fun on a synth.

The song is almost always played prior to Jump, and maybe that is why people think they are parts of the same song. Eddie was trained in classical piano, before picking up the drums, and switching to guitar, as Alex switched from guitar to drums. A fortuitous choice by both.

I love those electronic sounds as the song fades out. Reminds me of the music on the 80's movie "Flight of The Navigator". Like Eruption leading into You really got me, and Intruder leading into Pretty Woman, does anyone know if they used to lead this into Jump back in the 80s? I've never heard this piece on the radio before (Born in 1984 here ;))

When I was ten or eleven in 1984 my sister got this on tape; I promptly stole it and listened to it over and over and over again. Cobra Commander was defeated by G.I. Joe and this was the soundtrack to that shit, you better fucking believe it. I hear kids today say how much they wish they born so they could've lived in the 1980s. They so fucking right to wish that. There will NEVER be music like this again. Never!

@HugoJCox Complete bullshit lol. There will be music like this again once mainstream shit goes down. Half the rock albums realeased last year were glam metal, glam rock, and hair metal. And they all ave some goods songs that you'll listen to over and over again. Just give it some time and good styles, music, society, etc... will be back. I'm making a band called hysteria and i make songs that kinda sound like what motley crue and guns n roses would make. With a little mix of halen :D Just wait.

@jc4you Reckless love by Reckless Love, New Religon and Loud Minority by Crazy Lixx, Look bands like CrahsDiet, Vains of Jenna, H.E.A.T.(H.E.A.T Sounds exacty like Europe, the dudes who made the final countdown song), Black Rain, And many many others. They don't sound exactly like the crue, van halen, etc... They're new and have their own unique sound. Listen to Queen Obscene by Crashdiet. It's pretty damn good. The lead singer did suicide due to depression though. He was pretty damn good. Sad):

I've always loved this as a little kid, but had no idea where it came from or if it was part of another song off the album. But then I learned it was the intro to the album. And i LOVE listening to it, over and over again. There are some good new bands and albums out there, but there is NOTHING like this anymore. When I listen to this, I can FEEL something in the pit of my stomach.. and I gradually feel a HUGe chill coursing through my body... EVERY damn time.

This was the first album Eddie did it his way, a new sound. This is one of my favorite albums along with early Hagar. I like both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. Sammy is the better singer, David is the better at visual performance.
