Hey Bad Axe, You gotta pity these morons who are always abusing guys like Lonesome George and Slow Hand, calling them thieves, hacks and such. As a 40+ year picker myself, and lover of Delta blues, the fact is, had these guys not covered and revived all those hundreds of tunes, they would be now long forgotten. They introduced me in the 60's who would have given me any reason to look for music from the '20s, 30's etc.? So Grafitti74, thanks, but JOs like Jgibson and his ilk, well, Dry long so.
George Thorogood imo = Someone who loves the heritage of the blues and is a faithful practioner of it.. He brought the blues to loads more white folks and actually led us to check out people like JLH who recorded One Bourbon... I'd have never heard of Elmore James if not for GT
I I respectfully disagree sir...Mr. Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers brought this type of music right into the modern era...and may I say, Johnny Cash and Bo Didley absolutely LOVED them, but thank you for your comment...
mike, amazing playing. But please, next time you upload on to youtube try to give proper credit to the original song writer. Yes, it is Johny Cash who was the original. thanx for the vid.
@isettledforapint Cocaine Blues was written by T. J. "Red" Arnall, a reworking of the traditional song "Little Sadie". The song was originally recorded by W. A. Nichol's Western Aces.
@isettledforapint Before you correct someone, be sure you know what you're yappin' about. The venerable Mr. Cash did not write Cocaine Blues--or most of what he recorded, for that matter.
