The Chinese Communist Party is determined to crush all independant thought, (notably the Falun Gong, who are innocent Buddhists) The way of this bully is to lie, bluster and threaten. Their barbarous behaviour needs to be said plainly. The Olympics gave them more power. We don't want them in our world. If we deny and compromise our conscience and abandon people who need us, we will pay a far heavier price than a temporary dent in the accounts. The CCP is NOT representative of the Chinese people.

The IOC banned South Africa from the games during the 70's and 80"s for political and racial reasons. They now have given the games to China who have the worst human rights record ever and claim that politics should never play a part in sport- somewhat hypocritical if you ask me

Let me ask you a question. On what scale or what grounds can you measure human rights?

Perhaps your of the opinion that media censorship and an authoritarian system is human rights abuse? And that that would outweigh all the human rights abuse of the West. Guatanamo, Iraq, Patriot act anybody?
