@SonsoftheProphets I don't know if you are of African ancestry, but I am. I read the comments first, then watched the vid. I was looking for something insulting about Africa, her people, and/or her descendents...I found nothing insulting. Quite the contrary. It was a beautifully spoken allegory for Africa as healing place. A continent so blessed with spirituality and ancient wisdom that you could visit, be healed...renewed. Africa could handle the weight of that need. Her country could not.

I think you misinterupted what she said. As a young child you she didn't know what was going on. He gave her attention but the *wrong* attention. Most victims are so ashamed that they can not talk about it for many years. Shame as many sexual predators go unpunished since the statute of limitations is up when someone is able to come to terms with it yrs later. So glad she was able to come to terms with it and the guy did jail time . Sad about the other girl.

Teri has set a great example for other abused people. I remember a friend of mine who was abused as a chile, and I tried like hell to convince her to file a police report, but she just couldn't do it. We definitely need more people to set an example of bravery like this.

I'm very touched about what happened to her while she was a child and by the fact that she talks about it ....because she is helping a lot other girls who has been trough the same dramatic thing and to "fight" this, talk is the best "weapon".

She's a really nice person, what she says there is very deep.
