Cheap win. Wrestlers are not taught to guard against submission moves. If that Judoka tried to grapple with the wrestler and that's all they did, the wrestler has a chance of dominating. Those who train in Catch, Greco-Roman, and Freestyle are much more fit than the majority of those who train BJJ, Judo, etc. IMHO.

ufc mma pride, anything uses thai,kick boxing standing - wrestling to close distance and low shooting, judo for throwing, and bjj(judo's subtechniques) for submission. there is no good or bad martial art at an mma game you'll have to use them all.

This is silly. Judo is designed to be effective against opponents wearing the judo uniform. Wrestling is designed to take down opponents in wrestling tank tops. Thus, the judo master is forced to use wrestling techniques, and the master wrestler is forced to use judo techniques.

You also have to have a good understanding of your opponents skills and, how to counter them. Trigg didn't know anything about chokes. The match would have been better if the Judoka had tried throws and, sweeps against Trigg and, to see how Trigg would respond. COuld the Judoka defend agains tthe takedowns? That's what would have been interesting.

A front strangle, or choke isn't pussy ass, but I agree that the Judoka should have not been allowed to use a submission on a wrestler, since the wrestlers don't train against that. It should have been kept to grappling, throwing, etc.
You must mix different arts together to get the perfect one. Wrestling and Judo plus tae kwon do and any other martial arts that utilize punching can really help. If you want an example of a killer fighter, check out Snow from the Warriors. He's way better than Ajax.

If a wrestler is rolling with a Judo guy without a gi it looks like wrestling, freestyle wrestling. All types of sweeps trips, and even similar throws. It's not hard for a wrestler to learn submissions. They usually pull them out in side control anyways. This is a bad video to represent this situation. I think Yoshiyuki Yoshida vs War Machine is a better example.

This is silly. Judo is designed to be effective against opponents wearing the judo uniform. Wrestling is designed to take down opponents in wrestling tank tops. Thus, the judo master is forced to use wrestling techniques, and the master wrestler is forced to use judo techniques.

You also have to have a good understanding of your opponents skills and, how to counter them. Trigg didn't know anything about chokes. The match would have been better if the Judoka had tried throws and, sweeps against Trigg and, to see how Trigg would respond. COuld the Judoka defend agains tthe takedowns? That's what would have been interesting.

A front strangle, or choke isn't pussy ass, but I agree that the Judoka should have not been allowed to use a submission on a wrestler, since the wrestlers don't train against that. It should have been kept to grappling, throwing, etc.

You must mix different arts together to get the perfect one. Wrestling and Judo plus tae kwon do and any other martial arts that utilize punching can really help. If you want an example of a killer fighter, check out Snow from the Warriors. He's way better than Ajax.

well that really depends on the fighter...majority of the time though judo will win because they include a wider arsenal of techniques. judo is pretty much a cross between wrestling and jiu jitsu. im not saying wrestling is bad in any way but if it were so dominate why is there so much footage of judokas or bjj artist submitting wrestlers?

This was like sicking someone with a baseball (wrestling) bat against somebody with a spear(judo)... Arguably the baseball bat is a great weapon, but a spear by nature is more lethal. However... because of a wrestler's conditioning and outlook, they dominate once they learn a little judo (sweeps and submissions). Trust me... all I can do vs. wrestlers is submit them from guard... pinning them is like trying to take a raging bull thats had its balls kicked.

If a wrestler is rolling with a Judo guy without a gi it looks like wrestling, freestyle wrestling. All types of sweeps trips, and even similar throws. It's not hard for a wrestler to learn submissions. They usually pull them out in side control anyways. This is a bad video to represent this situation. I think Yoshiyuki Yoshida vs War Machine is a better example.
