@TheCodKiosk go for it! my 2.5r is fun but it depends how used the truck is though, if there is alot of chasis damage, or it doesnt run, than forget it. it gets to be a money pit if theres too much to replace. also consider fuel costs, its like 15 bucks for a quart of 20% nitro. just word of warning if you are new to nitro! make sure your reciever and transmitter batterys are new and the servos function correctlly. i had my engine stuck wide open once. scared the shit outta me. i ran like hell
thats just like mine.the front sway bar got smashed after my dad went like 20 mph into a metal pole.but mine is stock and it can go 40 plus mph.also reverse and 4wd.ITS SO BEAST!!!
@traxxas1234567890 because it was really out dated, a 2.5? .15 when you got a Savage 4.6 SS(at the time) and a MGT .21, even the 3.3TRX is now out dated, they got great platform but , their engine suck , the AE Pro28 is a way better RTR engine or even a NitroStar .25 etc etc...
it is indeed a bitch to tune top end and low end i had a regular 2.5 tmax but it was upgraded to a 2.5 R and it hauled ass! but one day the truck decided to have a mind of it's own and it took off into a curb which riped off the front end so i sold the truck for $50 it was a shitty truck to begin with but now im lookin for a all metal 3.3 revo............................
can anybody tellme why, my tmaxx 2.5 steering is dodgy i pick up put it on its back and turn wheels left it goes left then right but it seems to jutter and not very powerfull ( it runs on duracel batteries)
there are two vertical cylinders (im not sure the proper name for them) that the steering linkage attaches to. make sure that they both have two screws attached to them (one down through the chassis, and one up from the front skid plate). a lot of times these screws will work themselves loose while the trcuk is driving, so just make sure that they are tight. hope this helped!
your jerking the throttle on an off on an off then go back to neutreul dont go in the grass the reason why is if you get stuck youll be tempted to want to power out of getting stuck but mean while your stripping the gear then when you go to take it off you see you like fried it happened to I now know so I go in the grass but if It looks like im stuck ill throttle out a little FOR ONLY 1 TIME then go pick it up if im stuck hope this helped
