Why is it cat owners think they are above pet laws and that their cats don't need to be on a leash outside of the house? We own a cat, not my choice, I prefer a dog but most cat owners just open the door and let them run around with no regard for where they go or what they do and seem to have the illusion that their cat would never go far away and do anything feline like. Like shitting in peoples gardens and catching and killing songbirds etc..

The only thing the person who shot the cat did wrong was not kill it outright. I have killed a few cats over the years in places they weren't supposed to be, like mine or a friends property. I made sure they were dead and disposed of them. I never wounded one and left it to run home. Best insurance to make sure your cat is safe...keep it in your yard. If it gets shot there then you have a legitimate beef, otherwise suck it up and realise you fucked up and it cost your cat for your behavior!!
