I normally prefer the English dub for DBZ but this scene is better in Japanese. Don't know why but the English dub went full retard in this scene. A stupid ass monologue when there was originally silence (except for the music). It made the whole scene so stupid, like Gohan going "I'll get angry now", instead of just fucking SNAPPING. The original properly conveys it as it was in the manga: Gohan just fucking snapped. Instantly. No dumbass monologue.
From that point till the end of the Cell Saga...the absolute best that DBZ had to offer. Hands down. I got really disappointed in the latter series because they put the focus back on to Goku after spending so long showing that Gohan was to be Earths next primary defender. I still love Goku but Gohan was just so bad ass in this part of the series.
Gohan was at his best here. This should have, and was, the perfect END to DBZ. Gohan finally surpasses his father, becomes the most powerful Saiyan/ person ever to exist, the first and only person to surpass a Super Saiyan, and takes the roll of Earths protector. This was the entire premise of the show from the first episodes with Raditz. The Buu saga totally F*d all that up.

@MrKevin486 its not so much that the buu saga itself was bad, but what they did with it. they should have had mystic gohan/gotenks kill buu, not have him die and goku/vegeta take over. akira toriyama caved into the pressure of the fans freaking the fuck out over goku, so he chose to write it the way he did, which is extremely flawed in my opinion. they set gohan up to be the strongest person in the entire universe only to have him die twice and get replaced by goku again.

He only said he surpassed everyone in the cell arc. The boo arc it's stated only goku can go up against kid boo, and goku thought he could take him out if he charged his ki up but failed. i hate the fact that gohan could be the most powerful of all sayans(altho he hasn't influence the saga almost at all) but he looses time with learning and career instead of training, that's a waste of a damn good character

I loved the cell saga, it's the one and only time in the series we got to see gohan surpass his father, it provided something different for a change, though I am glad Toriyama decided to make goku the pure strongest again and take out kid boo with the super genki dama as it was stated he was the only one capable of fighting him otherwise everyone would be doomed, including everyone on earth.

SSJ 2 Gohan was never tested. We don't know how powerful he truely was. Plus, Mystic Gohan was beaten by Buu and couldn't land a punch on him, yet Goku could land a punch in SSJ2 form.
Mystic Gohan has no technique. Like Frieza said, "sometimes it's not the strongest who wins....but the smartest".
Vegeta got his arse kicked by Fat Buu, Goku didn't. Also, Super Buu was the strongest Villian and Goku managed to land a punch on him. Mystic Gohan didn't know what to do against Gotenks Buu. Plus Gohan as a child had hidden power. e.g. Gohan managed to knock Frieza to the ground when he though Goku was dead. This was Frieza at 100%. Now imagine SSJ2 Gohans hidden strength. Plus, Mystic Gohan hadn't trained for 7 years. SSJ2 Gohan was at his fighting peak!
Actually, even goku SSJ3 was no match for the fat Buu, even though he landed couple of punches, the fat buu wasnt serious at ALL. he saw it as a game play, and he still managed to be evenly matched with SSJ3 goku.
Also, goku managed to hit Super buu once because he was using his hands to hold Vegeta.
Mystic gohan also managed to hit Gotenks buu few times, only at the end of the battle it was really unmatched, but Gohan could kick Buu's ass after Gotenks fusion ran out, 4sure
@DeadIyZ Wrong, Goku lied to piccolo when he said he was unsure if he could have won, it's later established that he would have beaten fat majin boo as a ssj3, but he was holding back and wasn't trying to kill him because he intended the newer generation to handle boo. Plus, gohan landing hits on bootenks is filler, that was merely a warm up and bootenks wasn't being serious, in the manga, he gets straight to the point and woops his ass.

They choose the voices for characters based on their personalities and how Toriyama wanted it, unlike FUNimation who based their choices on about 10 cast members. And it also helped that Japanese actors could actually act, as opposed to the "actors" FUNimation rushed in from the street. I'm sorry that Kikuchi is a real composer and understood the show as opposed to Faulconer who turned it into an AMV

Faulconer's music I agree has better Themes and music. Cells theme, vegetas theme, pikkons etc. Also there are few songs that are really good. Both dubs are good, its more real in Jap, but the epicness of Goku's voice in eng dub is unrivaled. They are both really good dubs, but I'd rather watch it in Jap over Eng dub, just because the voice acting is so much better.

I loved the cell saga, it's the one and only time in the series we got to see gohan surpass his father, it provided something different for a change, though I am glad Toriyama decided to make goku the pure strongest again and take out kid boo with the super genki dama as it was stated he was the only one capable of fighting him otherwise everyone would be doomed, including everyone on earth.

SSJ 2 Gohan was never tested. We don't know how powerful he truely was. Plus, Mystic Gohan was beaten by Buu and couldn't land a punch on him, yet Goku could land a punch in SSJ2 form.
Mystic Gohan has no technique. Like Frieza said, "sometimes it's not the strongest who wins....but the smartest".

Mystic Gohan kicked Buu's ass, but after he absorbed Picolo and SSJ3 gotenks he couldnt fight back.
Goku and vegeta got theyre ass kicked by the fat buu, which is weaker then Majin buu after absorbing with the evil side.
theres no doubt, SSJ2 gohan wouldnt be able to last 5 minutes versus Mystic Gohan

Vegeta got his arse kicked by Fat Buu, Goku didn't. Also, Super Buu was the strongest Villian and Goku managed to land a punch on him. Mystic Gohan didn't know what to do against Gotenks Buu. Plus Gohan as a child had hidden power. e.g. Gohan managed to knock Frieza to the ground when he though Goku was dead. This was Frieza at 100%. Now imagine SSJ2 Gohans hidden strength. Plus, Mystic Gohan hadn't trained for 7 years. SSJ2 Gohan was at his fighting peak!

Actually, even goku SSJ3 was no match for the fat Buu, even though he landed couple of punches, the fat buu wasnt serious at ALL. he saw it as a game play, and he still managed to be evenly matched with SSJ3 goku.
Also, goku managed to hit Super buu once because he was using his hands to hold Vegeta.
Mystic gohan also managed to hit Gotenks buu few times, only at the end of the battle it was really unmatched, but Gohan could kick Buu's ass after Gotenks fusion ran out, 4sure

@DeadIyZ Wrong, Goku lied to piccolo when he said he was unsure if he could have won, it's later established that he would have beaten fat majin boo as a ssj3, but he was holding back and wasn't trying to kill him because he intended the newer generation to handle boo. Plus, gohan landing hits on bootenks is filler, that was merely a warm up and bootenks wasn't being serious, in the manga, he gets straight to the point and woops his ass.

Dragon Ball wasn't on Toonami, that was a distorted, poorly produced and unfaithful AMV of Dragon Ball. They choose the voices for characters based on their personalities and how Toriyama wanted it, unlike FUNimation who based their choices on about 10 cast members. And it also helped that Japanese actors could actually act, as opposed to the "actors" FUNimation rushed in from the street. I'm sorry that Kikuchi is a real composer and understood the show as opposed to Faulconer who turned it into an AMV

Masako Nozawa is a wonderful actress, she played a wonderful Kid Goku, she sufficiently lowered her voice for Adult Goku and Akira Toriyama cannot imagine Goku without her voice. Faulconer's music I agree has better Themes and music. Cells theme, vegetas theme, pikkons etc. Also there are few songs that are really good. Both dubs are good, its more real in Jap, but the epicness of Goku's voice in eng dub is unrivaled. They are both really good dubs, but I'd rather watch it in Jap over Eng dub, just because the voice acting is so much better.
