  • great show as well as captain scarlet

  • I was annoyed I could not get HTV WEST on Saturday tea time as where I lived was crap HTV WALES regional programmes, but we did used to get it on Wales late on Friday night instead ; I was allowed up late Friday, but I was greedy, I wanted it on Saturday as well !!. How tv channels have changed

  • Ed, Michael B, & George S have all passed away now, but it was over 40 years ago I guess

  • A great series, I was just 6 years old at the time. My favourite scenes were when the interceptors, sky 1 and the mobiles were in combat with the UFOs. The storylines were truly original, it seems hard to believe that after 1980, the year in which the series was set that NASA launched the Space Shuttle the following year. It's only just retired from service this last week in 2011 as I write.........

  • I recently become a fan of UFO. Very Fashinable .

  • I used to run home every late Saturday afternoon as a 9 year old to watch it! A great shame Ed, George, Mike, Vladek and Peter Gordeno are no longer with us. But time waits for no man as it won't for me now being 50. And yet I only watched an episode today and it still looks good. So hats off to that geat imaginative team back then. Just a pity that back in 1970 - 1980 I hoped for never turned out looking like that! Shame, it would've been far better than the actual version.

  • Un agradecimiento muy grato a los escritores y al personal que en su momento realizaron esta gran serie de TV, pase gratos momentos de emocion y fantasia a mis catorce años de vida.

  • Thanks for posting this video. I was a fan of the series as a child and recently rewatched it on DVD. It was interesting to see how the actors changed over time.

  • I just discovered the seies recently and think it's fantastic!!!

  • Ed Bishop prior to UFO voiced Capt. Blue from Capt. Scarlet?

  • @peternoer yes

  • Rest in Peace . . . .

    Michael Billington [ 1941 to 2005 , died aged 63 ]

    Ed Bishop [ 1932 to 2005 , aged 72]

    George Sewell [ 1924 to 2007 , aged 82 ]

    Vladek Sheybal [ 1923 to 1992 , aged 69 ]

  • RIP Michael Billington & Ed Bishop

  • Looking at the series now on DVD, it's pretty funny seeing how Straker smoked like chimney and Alex drank like it was going out of style. We need more of that in today's series.

  • @DaveFromBrooklyn I noticed the same thing. Both those characters were unapologetically masculine too, in a way you don't see in entertainment anymore. I don't think the smoking and drinking would happen in a modern series.

  • @DaveFromBrooklyn The reason Straker smoked like a chimney was for security reasons. No Alien would have wanted his smoked filled lungs. Seriously though I hope the new film version is good.

  • Classic series - some may say it may look dated but I personally think that class is permanent-a lot of die hard, hardcore fans seem to agree with me! Wanda Ventham stunning then and still is today,I was mad 4 u girl-RIP Ed Bishop!

  • I am old enough remember seeing 1st runs of Star Trek and UFO....love em both and as we enter the cyber generation online I use the same hair colors on my avatars.

  • The hardest Dinky Toy to find is the model of Straker's car. I had to bid nearly 30 quid for a tatty one on ebay. If you can find a mint, boxed one I've seen them go for over a ton.

  • I had a thing for both Col Lake & Lt Ellis so started young.

  • Wanda ventham still gorgeous...

  • とても貴重な映像でした!アップありがとうございました!

  • I was a fanaticla fan of this series as a kid. While everyone I knew was watching Star Trek I was watching U.F.O. I also used to have some of the Corgi U.F.O. toys. Had the Skydiver 1 flyer and a SHADO mobile. Could never find the alien UFO.

  • @Anlushac11 Yes I don't think they ever made the alien ufo, I had an interceptor which actually fired a missile when you pressed a button on the bottom. They're worth a fortune now.

  • @thetormentsofhell yes they did..1971

  • But why call it "UFO?" Surely this alien race had a name for itself and you would think the SHADO people would figure that out. It's like calling a Japanese Zero a "UFO."

  • @thermionic1234567 The Aleins were unable to speak, and as the show progressed it was discovered they were little more than organic robots used by some form of non corporeal intelligence, so even if they DID have a name for themselves, they couldn't or wouldn't tell anyone.

  • @Anlushac11 I was a big fan of UFO too and still am and always will be. I also watched star trek too, but they both were different shows in their own ways. They had great cast and crew in both series, It's too bad that most of the UFO casts have died. It is a true classic show and it will be forever.

  • 44skins You're so right it creeps me out to see these out of work actors at these "events" I saw a photo of M.Billington sitting at a desk signing autographs with a group of overweight old children ie "fans" with money (bills) in their sweaty hands to pay him. Very "greasy" scene. All in all the writing should have been better...but the actors were fine.

  • I can´t believe I found It!! UFO was one of my strongest TV experiences during my 1960´s growing years...!!

  • i just got all 26 episodes from PB!

  • What's PB dude? thanks...

  • ich hoffe dass hollywood , ein remake dieser serie macht :-))))

  • Love this:o)

    PeaCe

  • Beautiful memories!!!

  • How we reminisce....a new movie is a brilliant idea.

  • I would like to see this show turned into a new movie.

  • @fmscribs Well, your wish has just come true. UFO is being made into a big-budget movie.

  • Is it my imagination, or was Col. Paul Foster a dead ringer for Andy Kaufman?

  • I say do not smallville and wwe. Just watch ufo and power rangers i hope is clear

  • I think ufo tv series was better then the stupid smallville. So do not watch smallville just ufo on the dvd. Sorry i very angry to the stupid smallville and wwe because my brother watch this stupid thing. So do not watch this and watch power rangers

  • Are you sure all the cast of UFO TV Series

are gone or they still alive? :-(

  • Most of the main male cast are gone. Straker, Foster, Freeman, Jackson, Henderson, Carlin, Bradley.

All the female cast are still around as far as I know.

  • I know. Ed Bishop and Mike Billington died within a week of one another. So sad.

I think Miss Ealand (Norma Ronald) is also gone...

  • Just the girls are still alive..very sad!

  • whoever invented aging should be sued.

  • Steve Severin was Strakers son who played bass in Siouxsie

    And The Banshees

  • Rubbish! I dunno where you got that from. Straker's son was played by Barnaby Shaw.

  • i.v got the dvd,s of 1 & 2 series and l watch them all the time. follow by blake 7

  • possibly my fav prog as a kid + six million dollar man

  • Thank you for posting. It is a shame that many of the stars featured in the video are no longer with us. :(

  • Cool!

Thanks for posting this - have both box sets - such a pity that Series 3 was never made - elements of which I understand went on to become parts of Space 1999. Remember being told off at school as all I wrote about in my english lessons was UFO!

Yes - it was a long time ago....

  • Ragazzi di isohado quanto mi sarebbe piaciuto essere li con voi... con i piedi nella storia.

  • RIP you guys, thanks for the amazing memories

  • i used to see the spanish version

in mexico in the 70s ,never missed them,

  • WOW . can't believe this. My favourite program from the 70's

Straker was the coolest guy with the coolest car and the coolest Job !

AND definitely some of the best music ever on a TV show.

Personally I'd have had more than 3 Interceptors on Moonbase !!!! Lucky the Aliens are pretty dumb.

  • Gerry Anderson's UFO now to be a movie!

"Joseph Kanarek and Ryan Gaudet are currently writing the screenplay. UFO will be their first screenwriting credit. The film is being produced by Avi Haas and Henri M. Kessler as well as super-producer Robert Evans, who used to be famous for being behind the likes of Chinatown and The Godfather."

  • Thanks alien8ted-that's awesome news indeed! loved this series sooo much-I remember never missing a show on TV -I remember the first time I saw a Delorean and thinking-I wonder if Ed Bishop drives one?

  • Wonderful. Thanks for posting.

  • Much appreciated. I discovered UFO by chance ... it came up as a Netflix recommendation based on what I'd watched previously, so gave it a try. Now I'm hooked on the series and DVD #3 should be arriving on Wednesday.

Funny to be watching stuff that was made when I was 7 years old ...

Good to see a human side to the actors. Everyone gets old ... : )

Amazing and charming video ... thanks much for posting. It is charming and has a human perspective.

  • Much appreciated - Long Live UFO!

  • This is fantabulous!!

Kudos to the guys from ISOSHADO for their great work!

  • FANTASTIC!

  • thanks very much for posting this.....Wonderful

  • One of the guys always used to play a hard case in things like Special Branch. I was a bit scared of him as a kid because he was a tough guy. I'm sure he's a nice chap though (((chuckles)))

No offence intended. He played a good part! :)

  • If they did a remake, it would probably be very slick and very, very charmless.

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • OMG. I would have given my back teeth to have been there at that convention!

God Bless Ed Bishop, Michael Billington and George Sewell.

Their work, as well as our memories of them, will continue to live on in the hearts and minds who love this series.

  • These clips come from various events with UFO actors by the IsoSHADO guys. This video was included in the UFO DVD set as an easter egg.

  • Fascinating clip. RIP to Ed Bishop, George Sewel and Michael Billington. This was a fantastic program I watched it every saturday afternoon in 1970.

  • Harry Baird (Mark Bradley) is gone as well.He passed before the others.

  • please bring back a new day UFO

  • Those guys at ISOSHADO, what stars they are for doing these meetings and rescuing bits of gear from the series, like the Patrol car at the end - Ace work! Does anyone know what part of Italy they 're based in?

  • i remember seeing a little bit of ufo here in the states and then it disappeared. thought it was great at the time and it still is. the same thing happened to anderson's space 1999. first season was terrific and then it disappeared. great sci-fi. underappreciated.

  • It just disgust's me to see these fine actors have to do a convention with just a few people in attendance! The UFO series should of been a raging smash hit! Hollywood and it's over sea's counterpart's blow!

  • 110% in agreement! Nicely put!!

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH. When was this convention? This is the first time I saw something from a UFO Convention.

  • How grand it was that all the actors were able to come together for this reunion before so many passed away. RIP. This was a fun series to watch

  • HELL YES, She, and Erin Gray of Buck Rogers, and Lynda Carter of Wonderwoman were the sexiest TV actresses of all times.

  • When was this filmed?

  • WHEN DID ED BISHOP DIE?

  • I would like to know that too?

I never heard anything about this?

    Was he sick?

I feel so bad as I had a crush on him too!

I am keeping him in my prayers!

    Hugs

    Michelle

  • Actor News - 09-06-05

YOLT and DAF actor Ed Bishop dies aged 72

  • So many are gone now:

    Ed Bishop - Straker - 2005

    Mike Billington - Col. Foster - 2005

    George Sewell - Col. Freeman - 2007

    Harry Baird - Capt. Bradley - 2005

    Vladek Sheybal - Dr. Jackson - 1992

    Grant Taylor - Gen. Henderson - 1971

RIP all. You made the series great. We miss you!

  • Ed Bishop and Mike Billington died only 3 days appart or something awful like that. It's such a tragedy. As Ed Straker said, "The long finger of tragic coincidence, stretching across a billion miles of space."

  • 2005

  • Can you tell me the name of the CD and where can I get the UFO Shado music that played in the video?

  • As far as I know, the soundtrack has only ever been avalaible from Fanderson - the fan club. It hasn't been released in the shops. It is a great soundtrack. I'd buy it if it was released.

  • I was five years old and I had a crush on Lt. Gay Ellis... I'm pretty sure I didn't know what I'd do with her but I knew I wanted to do something with her

  • She still looks wonderful!

  • Ahem...

  • @Zenophobius From that video clip, it seems time was the kindest to her.

  • Very interesting;Thanks for posting;

Michael Billington was considered for the part of James bond in the early 70's;Shame he wasn't chosen.

  • Guessing its from 2002?

  • When was all of this filmed, because I know Ed Bishop and Michael Billington have since died. What year and what convention was this?

  • what is this from i've never seen this it doesn't look like the fanderson tape.

  • They should renew the series for a more updated version. It would be interesting to see what kinds of technology the show would employ as it would exist today. Great show.

  • Great video!

    LadyViewer

  • What a wonderful insight into a show I grew up with. Fabulous. Thank you.

  • Sad that all 3 male leads plus astronaut Mark are no longer with us.

  • hope to injoy it again

  • My prefer series!!!!I love it!!!

  • v interesting to see after all these years.

  • Thanks for sharing that. Fascinating, in a nostalgic kind of way!

  • Classic show and clip. Love all these UFO clips. Best series of the 70s.

  • Wonderful. It brings back so many sweet memories. thanks.

  • I wish they'd make a decent movie from the show. There was talk of it a few years back, but nothing.

  • Thanks a lot.

It was a great emotion to see all the actors, included the awesome 'Foster' and 'Straker', unfortunately not with us anymore.
