UFO and remote mind reading/manipulation technology was developed by the nazis by the end of WW2 without any alien help. : there is an extreme criminal orgonizaiton working withing high ranks of the US military waging psychological against the general population pretending to be extradimensional aliens and/or angelic and demonic forces often using holograms.
I was annoyed I could not get HTV WEST on Saturday tea time as where I lived was crap HTV WALES regional programmes, but we did used to get it on Wales late on Friday night instead ; I was allowed up late Friday, but I was greedy, I wanted it on Saturday as well !!. How tv channels have changed
A great series, I was just 6 years old at the time. My favourite scenes were when the interceptors, sky 1 and the mobiles were in combat with the UFOs. The storylines were truly original, it seems hard to believe that after 1980, the year in which the series was set that NASA launched the Space Shuttle the following year. It's only just retired from service this last week in 2011 as I write.........
I used to run home every late Saturday afternoon as a 9 year old to watch it! A great shame Ed, George, Mike, Vladek and Peter Gordeno are no longer with us. But time waits for no man as it won't for me now being 50. And yet I only watched an episode today and it still looks good. So hats off to that geat imaginative team back then. Just a pity that back in 1970 - 1980 I hoped for never turned out looking like that! Shame, it would've been far better than the actual version.
Un agradecimiento muy grato a los escritores y al personal que en su momento realizaron esta gran serie de TV, pase gratos momentos de emocion y fantasia a mis catorce años de vida.
Thanks for posting this video. I was a fan of the series as a child and recently rewatched it on DVD. It was interesting to see how the actors changed over time.
Looking at the series now on DVD, it's pretty funny seeing how Straker smoked like chimney and Alex drank like it was going out of style. We need more of that in today's series.
@DaveFromBrooklyn I noticed the same thing. Both those characters were unapologetically masculine too, in a way you don't see in entertainment anymore. I don't think the smoking and drinking would happen in a modern series.
@DaveFromBrooklyn The reason Straker smoked like a chimney was for security reasons. No Alien would have wanted his smoked filled lungs. Seriously though I hope the new film version is good.
Classic series - some may say it may look dated but I personally think that class is permanent-a lot of die hard, hardcore fans seem to agree with me! Wanda Ventham stunning then and still is today,I was mad 4 u girl-RIP Ed Bishop!
I am old enough remember seeing 1st runs of Star Trek and UFO....love em both and as we enter the cyber generation online I use the same hair colors on my avatars.
The hardest Dinky Toy to find is the model of Straker's car. I had to bid nearly 30 quid for a tatty one on ebay. If you can find a mint, boxed one I've seen them go for over a ton.
I was a fanaticla fan of this series as a kid. While everyone I knew was watching Star Trek I was watching U.F.O. I also used to have some of the Corgi U.F.O. toys. Had the Skydiver 1 flyer and a SHADO mobile. Could never find the alien UFO.
@Anlushac11 Yes I don't think they ever made the alien ufo, I had an interceptor which actually fired a missile when you pressed a button on the bottom. They're worth a fortune now.
But why call it "UFO?" Surely this alien race had a name for itself and you would think the SHADO people would figure that out. It's like calling a Japanese Zero a "UFO."
@thermionic1234567 The Aleins were unable to speak, and as the show progressed it was discovered they were little more than organic robots used by some form of non corporeal intelligence, so even if they DID have a name for themselves, they couldn't or wouldn't tell anyone.
@Anlushac11 I was a big fan of UFO too and still am and always will be. I also watched star trek too, but they both were different shows in their own ways. They had great cast and crew in both series, It's too bad that most of the UFO casts have died. It is a true classic show and it will be forever.
44skins You're so right it creeps me out to see these out of work actors at these "events" I saw a photo of M.Billington sitting at a desk signing autographs with a group of overweight old children ie "fans" with money (bills) in their sweaty hands to pay him. Very "greasy" scene. All in all the writing should have been better...but the actors were fine.
I think ufo tv series was better then the stupid smallville. So do not watch smallville just ufo on the dvd. Sorry i very angry to the stupid smallville and wwe because my brother watch this stupid thing. So do not watch this and watch power rangers
Thanks for posting this - have both box sets - such a pity that Series 3 was never made - elements of which I understand went on to become parts of Space 1999. Remember being told off at school as all I wrote about in my english lessons was UFO!
"Joseph Kanarek and Ryan Gaudet are currently writing the screenplay. UFO will be their first screenwriting credit. The film is being produced by Avi Haas and Henri M. Kessler as well as super-producer Robert Evans, who used to be famous for being behind the likes of Chinatown and The Godfather."
Thanks alien8ted-that's awesome news indeed! loved this series sooo much-I remember never missing a show on TV -I remember the first time I saw a Delorean and thinking-I wonder if Ed Bishop drives one?
Much appreciated. I discovered UFO by chance ... it came up as a Netflix recommendation based on what I'd watched previously, so gave it a try. Now I'm hooked on the series and DVD #3 should be arriving on Wednesday.
Funny to be watching stuff that was made when I was 7 years old ...
Good to see a human side to the actors. Everyone gets old ... : )
Amazing and charming video ... thanks much for posting. It is charming and has a human perspective.
