About that first guard... I've learned that if a guard starts to wake up and you're standing behind him, if you aim your gun as he gets up, then Snake will say "FREEZE" and hold him up when he manages to get back on his feet, no matter how you time it. It definitely makes it easier, either if you screw up or have a hard time finding an opening in the patrols to sneak up on them.

I found that tactic during this let's play. It's extremely useful when you get the coolant in the tanker episode. You can just stun the guards, use the coolant on them and then stand behind them with your weapon drawn when they get up.

the reason why your controls are messing up is because you're not using a real ps2 controller and most usb computer controllers don't support button pressure.

another way to wake them up is just targeting snakes punches towards his body and he'll wake up..
