The piston domes worked but didn't ! The domes were to tall we think it shrouded the spark preventing a good burn. The motor ran well and got good numbers on the dyno. It had 240 psi per cylinder. Time for a motor with a 7" stroke....
Sombody was thinking when they desinged those rods I didn't know they made them off set like that that long ago I thought cummins thought of that, good job IH.
You guys do know that Hy Capacity makes a high compression kit that w/o decking the head takes it up to 8.3:1. I put a 281 HC kit in my 400 and shaved the head .050 to get to 9.5:1 Nice work on the head, if you want someone to grind you one heck of a cam talk to Sonny@Bullet, he actually pulls and M himself so he knows what works : ) Also, inake valves from a 4230 deere have the same stem size but the head's almost a 1/4" bigger : ) Made 72hp@1350 rpm with mine... When is it expected to be done?
Really like that governor cover! What are you going with for your bore and stroke combo? Always curious to hear what other guys are running and how it is working for them, I pull a '44 M...
Those are some huge piston rods.

It's using the stock stroke, and a 4 /18" bore. Basically a 281 c.i. Nothing fancy, yet :-)
