Some estimate between 7-36% but I say perhaps 15% or 300 million who sympathize with suicide bombings & 9/11 etc.

There are @2 Billions of muhammadans so even if only 1 out of 100 is a supporter of Terrorism, then that absolute number alone would blow away your foolish estimate of only some "tens of thousands". Some estimate between 7-36% but I say perhaps 15% or 300 million who sympathize with suicide bombings & 9/11 etc.

I personally don't care about the whole affair, so I haven't looked into whether thunderf00t has a case or not. However, I do know that defamation law does not apply to the deceased in the United States, making Mohammed fair game.

The difference is easy. Impersonation attributes speech to another in a way indistinguishable to others, therefore masks the true author of the free speech. (slander/libel are similar but you obfuscate the truth with damaging lies) The point is you have free speech, but you must also take credit for what you say under it. The example you cite, people did not take responsibility for what they said by impersonating thunderf00t.

@micheltariq Judging from the track record of religions in general I don't think there is a religion around that hasn't done this, but you have to pick your battles, maybe if the Jews became an actual threat to our and everyone else's freedom TF would attack them I wouldn't defend them either. Being an atheist I hate all religions but I'm going to attack the group more threatening to my way of life... so far the Jews are the least threatening to my way of life.
