This is a good cover, but towards the end, they should have stuck with the original solo instead of all that sonic barrage. The original sounds a lot more balanced; this one feels self-indulgent towards the end.

This ain't bad, but hearing a cover of this usually reminds one just how incredible Robert Plant's voice was in those early Zeppelin years. I have heard otherwise great singers just butcher Zeppelin songs.Plant was one of a kind.

i think mike deserves alot of respect. He had some big shoes to fill. I know both the americans as well as the people abroad had more than their share of good and bad to say. Mike is a good guy and unless someone has had a professional recording contract, toured the world and played to huge audiences, i dont see how that person could possibly have the 'credentials" to criticize him!

I believe the only thing you really need to criticize people is knowledge. Contacts, or even luck is more required when it comes to fame, even more than technique and knowledge (not saying they're not required). Many great players around the world remain underground (maybe living well with what they earn, you don't need to be famous to have a good life). Those words just sounded like they came from a non-musician guy, and I feel forced to believe that's what you are :(
