@DYORPEEPS Bush nearly didn't get elected to his second term. No politician would risk loosing office or screwing their legacy just for a few billion in millitary contracts! I don't agree with the decision to go to war or really any of Bush's decisions, but I am not dumb enough to think that Bush was willing to purposeful make the case to go to war on false pretences risking his career just so some millitary and oil contractors could make a little money at the costing our country trillions.

@DYORPEEPS Besides, the oil companies in general were against the war in Iraq because the oil market was stable there! Oil companies are perfectly happy with dictators as long as they keep the oil flowing as Saddam did when the sanctions ended in 99'. Disrupting the supply of one of the largest oil exporters wasn't good for anyone but the speculators, and Bush certainly wasn't invading a country to appease oil speculators! And BTW Bush had a low 30's approval rating by the end of his second term

Many of these so called leaders give away corporate tax cuts and concessions to powerful corporations and in return following their term in office they are given lavish positions which require little work but high pay. Sad to say but that is the reality of democracy and it is easy to see especially in the US system with the revolving door.
