The ppl who drive in SF are usually out of towners who commute from places like Oakland, San rafael and San jose. Every one else rides public transportation.

I lived there for nearly a decade and never met a san franciscan who liked downtown. Too many bums, yuppies, and packed with tourists buying tacky overpriced souvenirs on the weekends. One thing I've noticed about west coast people overall whether they live in Seattle or SF, is that in contrast with east coast ppl they are far less rude.

I lived in SF 24/mission and then Russian hill Let me tell you my expr: crack heads, drive by's, constant fighting, stubbing, stealing, dirty city, Etc. but in overall friendly people, Dirty because owning a car and paying F*****g 37$(back then) for a tickets makes you careless about garbage. Im from a small town in Rural Ontario, the nearest city (London) is a hour and a half away. I went to College near Toronto, and the transition to the city was NUTS. Parking, congestion, crazy bad drivers, smelly streets (Toronto during the garbage strike was nasty), etc, etc, etc. I now do work in London on call (commute), and the drive is always very nice until I get close to the city... Want to have a bunch of those drivers suddenly 'dissipate' into nothingness.

Culver City is cool cuz we have Sony Studio which used to be the historic filming empire MGM. The Culver Hotel used to be John Wayne Hotel and they sell Prada next to the movie theater. City people experiences: Yes, they like to litter, I try to look for trash cans wherever. Most have been rude to me, they don't say hello if you greet them mostly (most older people do), and everybody thinks you're a weirdo if you are nice to them for no reason in El Paso.

But then you have exceptions; I was in LA once passing through and a girl offered me change, too, when I was short.
