This is why I receive many of ADT's customers as my new customers, they look at you as just recurring monthly revenue (RMR) only and not a customer. Plus, their $34.95/mo. monitoring is ridiculous. We provide the same services, same systems made by Honeywell for half the cost. Hope you got it worked out.

Hey Everyone ! Yes something as simple as installing an alarm system with dead batteries in the remotes can piss off the customer. It's not the 3 dollars, it's the fact that it should have been ready to go, not rush in slap some selfstick contacts on some doors and windows and run away. I have my new alarm system with live streaming video and audio to my iphone, I capture any motion. and while saying ADT SUCKS ! may have been harsh, it has incited much discussion on the topic
The truth is, there is not one company out there that is perfect. There is not one major company in the world with 100% customer satisfaction. Unfortunately not all technician, customer service representatives, etc. respond correctly to an issue that should be resolved by "simply replacing batteries". There is one fact though. That ADT is the best security company you can have. There are many family's, who's lives have been saved due to ADT systems. What other security companies can say that.
Your upset over batteries?! Seriously this year alone I had over 16 residential rider contracts for them to come and add things. I spent thousands of dollars on these clowns with idea in mind if I was a substantially good paying customer they would work harder or better.. My God was I wrong. I think the pulse system is absolute junk & mine was largest in my state & I ripped it completely out. Only way to have a good foolproof security system is to install it yourself! ----cont next post
MILADOLFINS1 got a point MOTST AND I DO ALMOST EVEYTHING NOW A DAYS COMES WITH THE BATTERYS I BOUGHT A 3000 DOLLAR VAULT DOOR WITH ELECTONIC KEY GUARD AND IT CAME WITH BATTERYS WHY WOULDENT ATDS
When you get your cable service or tv service the remotes come with batteries from the factory. Do you call Direct TV or cable company to come and change your batteries in your remote?? No you dont. Quit crying about having to spend 10 dollars for batteries.
adt is an accredited better business bureau company. we're in every federal facility, international airport, and 95% of fortune 500 companies. we have 7 monitoring centers throughout US and have been around since 1871. other co's have 1 center and if it snows or hurricane, no one is watching your house. if 1 of our centers closes for any reason at all- everyone is rerouted to the nearest one. ADT is #1 and the largest in the world for a reason.... call your sales rep if you have any probs.
I am a sales rep for ADT security. We DO sell Quick Connect systems for $99-$299 depending on what you add to it. Dealers sell old refurbished equipt that we were installing 10-15 years ago. The boxes that the systems come in include the batteries for each device same as the remote control to your TV came with generic batteries. So, the distributer may of put a faulty battery in the box. The tech i'm sure didn't know. Vivint is a terrible company. They have a F on BBB. No thanks.
E381 loss of supervision..E583 sensor tamper...E384 low battery...just call in and ask which one it is and you will get someone with more knowledge than the person who calls you. the folks who call you are more trained for actual alarms not maintnence issues
you should all check out vivint, there is no fault codes their systems say exactly whats wrong in english if their is ever aything wrong, greatest most affordable system ever!
the battery is good or it would say 29 check or trouble or bat. its just an open zone...change any doors or windows after installation? could be a missing magnet...broken wire leading to contact...bad contact etc. the alarm is reading the zone is open. probably a simple fix.
Another thing is, this guy didn't pay $900 for that system. ADT doesn't sell the ADEMCO Lynx (which is what you have.) ADT Authorized dealers (they are not the same company) do and they give it away for $99.00. So unless you bought $900.00 worth of extra equipment, your $900 comment is bullshit
If there is something wrong with the battery, the installer would have noticed it from the beginning. One other note, ALL residential customers have a service warranty for ADT to come out and fix or replace any of their devices for FREE. however, dumbasses like this guy and others who just complain, don't even bother picking up the phone and calling for service.
Secondly, most homeowners don't read the manual. This guy probably doesn't even know how to use his remotes. Every time I get a call that their remote isn't working, it is user error. You have to hold the button down for 3 seconds. That is to prevent false alarms and false dispatches. There is a panic button on the remote and can be accidently pressed.
Actually everyone on here doesn't understand security one bit. I have been in the security indeustry for over 26 years and I have worked for ADT, other alarm companies, alarm manufacturers and even the US department of Homeland security. First off, ADT doesn't manufacture the system, ADEMCO, DSC or GE manufactures it depending on which one that particular branch uses.
ADT is the worst company I ever dealt with, I would like to tell all the viwers not to deal with them at all, they are the biggest scam insecurity system, their system does not work, their customer service are the rudest, their tech suppoer are useless
The number 29 is not a fault code. What the control is telling you is whatever device that is programed to zone 29 has a low battery. In your case it is most likely one of the four button remotes. You can change the batteries yourself, however, if you have the maintenance policy that covers batteries ADT will send a tech out to replace any battery as required.
@PonderosaKarwick I have to admit that what happened to you was uncalled for. I agree the installer should have changed the batteries. If there is a way outside of youtube we can contact each other I will personally mail you the replacement batteries needed. I wish I could have caught this much earlier I really hate to lose a customer over a battery......
@PonderosaKarwick I totally agree. It is piss poor customer service to expect a customer to go out and purchase their own batteries AFTER they just paid nearly $1,000 for a security system. You'd think that they'd throw in the batteries. That's good old American customer service for ya.
@CoyoteInternational You know what.... I got my refund. ADT is a crap company and you defense of them only highlights the fact that they have a crew of idiots working there.
You seem to take a lot of joy in other peoples issues with ADT. Get some help ass clown.
the fault on zone 29 is because you pressed one of the panic buttons on your "brand new" remotes!! 26 is off, 27 is away, 28 is stay, and 29 is panic!!! PRESS OFF TWICE ON YOUR KEYFOBS OR PRESS YOUR CODE AND OFF TWICE ON YOUR KEYPAD!! No reason to make a video and make our company look bad.. when it is your fault!!!
the fault on 29 is a simple fix that willt take all of 2 seconds call the company and have them send some one out to fix it. Not the batteries you're not talking to the right people.
You bought this system from an authorized dealer . Not corporate ADT. I have been a sales rep for over 10 years and something as small as batteries would of been handled very quick! The dealers are really not concerned with the service of the system They are only want to sell that contract to ADT . This is why customers must read what they are signing and need to know who they are buying from! I come across this all the time from dealers but never from corporate . The dealer program is bull!
ADT is not the only company out there, We went with Smith and Wesson Security, yes folks its the real deal not only do the sell guns they also sell security alarms!!!
If you were even a little educated, you'd clean up your house, and read the contract that you signed. Batteries are Covered for FREE if you went with the warranty, which that system has automatically.
You cut corners with the Lynx/Quickconnect system, should have gone with a better system, but you probably couldnt afford that.
Also, I was supposed to get an additional rebate for $150.00 because I am a home inspector and agreed to give their flyers to my customers. Never got that rebate and I have stopped giving out their flyers. I recommend people NOT deal with ADT.
I am going to deduct the $350 they owe me form my monitoring fees. If it shows up on my credit report, I will sue them.
I use to have ADT. I'm also a deputy Sheriff. I had them for years without incident until I wanted to add on to my security system to a new addition I built onto my house. You should have seen the look on my face when ADT send a tech who came to my house. The tech was somebody I once arrested for dealing in stolen property. When I called to complain they said "he was a sub contractor". This is the type of people they will send to your home. Got rid of them the moment my contract for finished.
someone keeps breaking into my appartment, they are drugging me with some sort of sedative its literly everynight, and are vandalizing my property, stealing, i think there might be a camera in my appartment i cant catch them i called the police 8 times, its in minnapolis uptown can anyone help
@HHHdahman and all I have to do is shoot you and the dog. You actually think that when someone breaks into your home at 2am in the morning, you will be fully awake enough to be able to shoot someone? Not to mention your eyes haven't adjusted yet to the dark. People who talk like this haven't truly experienced a burglary. True, the noise won't catch someone, but it isn't meant to. It is meant to #1 try to scare them away, #2 (and more importantly) let you know someone broke in.
Lol ADT is amazing we have them in our southafrican villa and in our house in dublin and both have been attemted to be burgaled nd the burglars were caught :D and yea so what if you have to buy your own batterys ther like 2 dollars in walmart!
You bought your system from an ADT authorized dealer. This means that you did NOT buy your system from ADT, you moron. Let me guess, the installer was 18 years old and had a squeaky voice?
