  • 1:00 - heb ik vandmiddag heletijd gezeten prachtige plek !

  • Inderdaad, een van mijn favoriete spots :)

Prachtig uitzicht, over de boomgaard, weilanden en steile hellingen.. fantastisch!

  • I have just put a link to this video on my Facebook group "Amstel Gold Race and the Eyserbosweg".

  • Thank you Perico for posting your videos. I could answer you in Dutch, because I was born in the south of the Netherlands and I lived in Eys for almost twenty years. My father still lives there. I cycled a lot too (a long time ago...). Of course the Eyserbosweg is my favorite. Have you ever heard about the Open Dutch Championship Bag Carrying (Zakkendragen)? Another great sportsevent on the Eyserbosweg!

  • You are very welcome, the Eyserbosweg is one of my favorite spots ever, it is always great to walk or cycle there.

Didn't know they carried bags there, I heard they did it at the Gulpenerberg outside Partij though, also a very steep road (18% even, although 400 metres shorter).

I wouldn't mind living in Eys, to be honest! Thank you very much for your appreciated support! :)

  • You're correct about the Gulpenerberg. The event moved there because it became too big. The event started as a bet (for, as I remember well, a hundred Dutch guilders) between three farmers in de fifties or sixties. Two of them and one's assistent walked up the hill (one kilometer) with a 100 kg bag. The assistent won. Much later he was my neighbour and very proud when the event became a championship.

  • 9 Honors, too long to mention ;)

  • Great video. I always enjoy your hiking/biking videos.

  • That's awesome, I am very delighted to hear this. I still want to finally make some technical improvements though, but you can expect loads more I guess.

  • Awesome video!! You live in such a beautiful area, it makes me want to travel there one day!!! thanks for the lovely video!!!

  • Aww that's wonderful, thanks ever so much! Yeah I guess it sure is pretty here, at least if you compare it to the rest of the Netherlands. But then again, each country has its many magnificent spots, time to visit yours! :)

  • Superb tour. I was wondering, what is growing in those fields to make them yellow?

  • Haha yeah good question, I guess my mother asked the same on Sunday, when we saw these fields elsewhere. I looked it up, and my best shot is, these are coleseeds or turnips, they have that vibrant yellow colour. Certainly something agricultural!

  • Stop it Pertico! You are making me very jealous! The weather here in the States has been very cruel this spring. It looks like a very lovely day. Enjoy!

  • To your slight comfort, the temperature drop has been significant today, 10 degrees Celsius, to about 19 (that's 66 Fahrenheit). It's weird, in southern Europe it rains all the time, here it is dry for over a month, while we should have their weather.

  • Same here in Louisiana. We should be getting rain all the time, but we've been in a 10 year drought.

  • At least someone's getting good weather ! :) Winter's definitely shifting here in North America - We got snow, in mid April along the east coast ! I just hope the tulip festival can go on here in Ottawa - Mine haven't popped out.

  • That's crazyk, snow this late. Although one time I was in Finland, round first of May, I looked out on a totally frozen harbour still, but that was at 66 degrees North. Good luck with your tulips, our national symbol next to wooden shoes and windmills, all 3 I care nothing about ;)

  • Ottawa has strong ties with your royal family. They lived here during WWII and Princess Margriet was born at the Civic Hospital, where her room had been declared "dutch soil" for the occasion. Princess Juliana gave the city 100,000 tulip bulbs in 1945 and their popularity here has grown significantly since. It's the city's official flower.

  • It's a nice flower, but alas I am an avid adversary of the Dutch monarchy and all the people that were in it in the 20th century. I'd rather have a republic than these rather unpleasant ignorant people (although the people you mention, are not so bad).

  • That bad, huh ? Yipes. Canadians generally just get news about the British royal family, because we're still in the commonwealth.

  • queeek =)

I'd have loved a roll in the yellow field.

and the chances are 18% i'd finish the dead man =)

  • hohohohoh! as always, things look worse than they are, perhaps with the exception of the Eyserbos. Chances are 1:800.000 to 1 you see an Eyserbosaap there ;)

  • sooooooooooo pretty thankyou so much for sharing this with us! inny-yeck is getting married!

  • thnx Ineke, and congratulations again on your engagement and getting married. Sure a lot has happened in a short time, must be exciting!

  • very very jealous of your bike trip. it looks so beautiful!

  • Aaah but then you have Mount Whitney and so many other pictoresque mountains and sights in your state, I am jealous of ;) But yeah the great thing is I can see and climb a lot on a compact route, I hardly go over 40 miles.

  • Such great views! This is why i like youtube.

  • Aah and that is why I like you ;)Thank you, I am glad to be of service, even if it is difficult to get a few decent shots in a pool of mediocre ones.

  • Dode man looks great, I'd love to try out that climb!! :D

  • Haha yeah splendid, it's just similar to many climbs in Italian villages. And then to think, that the Passo di Mortirolo has 12 kms of this kinda average.

  • I enjoyed this thoroughly, tonight it is hailing and raining and snowing... So this was a nice relief, Thanks for posting!

  • TO be honest, today the temp dropped 10 degrees. I had been reading non stop past weeks about the south pole, so mentally I had your state. I am glad I made your thoughts dwell elsewhere!

  • You didn't finish you day atop the Cauberg?

  • Haha no as a matter of fact, it's just not placed conveniently in my route. Anyway, it's not that difficult a hill, so you don't miss much by not climbing ;)
