It looks like you socialized your baby very well and you were both having fun! Everyone needs to step back on the lecturing. She knows her ferrett and it seems to be healthy and happy. So let her enjoy her new family member without everyone trying to stress her. I have raised 8 ferretts in my 40 years and each one was different and had special things they liked. My Alondra (8 yrs old now) is the healthiest ferrett I've ever been blessed with. Just enjoy your baby and play with her ALOT! Peace!
It's a ferret.. seriously.. sneezing is its natural way of clearing his nostrils.. Seriously, if it would get hurt by snifing in the sand and sneezing from it. It would stop sniffing it.. Ferrets are not stupid animals. They are probably better suited to decide whats good/bad for them and their most often stupid owners.. i got 3 ferrets and they do what they please.. and if they dont like doing it.. They stop.. much like small stupid human children. If it hurts. they stop..
Oi oi oi! Come on people, chill with the..comments, okay? Sorry, but wtf you expect? Ever effin ferret book and a lot of the "detailed" ferret articles contradict themselves. They say no dust, yet it's okay for sand. So cut the people some slack. Yes. It's bad. But as everyone knows with owning a ferret, especially their first, it's live and learn. No matter how much you read or prepare. And if you honestly wish to get technical, both RICE and PINTO BEANS are bad for them as well. So shaddap.
Also realize ferrets in general, are sniffers. If the ferret is deaf and they don't know it, then it's an effin powersniffer. I've seen ferrets sneeze twice as much as that with regular digging soil (untreated/no chemical soils for 'high end' dig boxes). Not to mention even my own Vet. when asked what is good for digboxes said sand. They don't elaborate ANYWHERE what grade/grain sand it should be. For all we know, they probably decided to go get the large grained sand after this.
I have a big plastic bin full of UNCOOKED rice - the ferrets LOVE to dig in it and it doesn't go up their nose ;-) DooK Dook!
it is tough to watch situations in which one can see 'better' alternatives - without giving one's two-cents-worth (opinion).

Sorry, you're not an idiot, just a concerned person, worried about the welfare of this little guy. I just worry when people say keep chlorinated water away from your pets, chlorine is bad. Beware of dihydrogen oxide, in large quantities it can cause lung failure. I believe that an animal that tunnels has the capacity to breathe some dust and have its respiratory system be fine. My degree is in animal science with an emphasis on parasitology of reptiles. I apologize for the idiot comment.
So if you have a degree in animal science do you know that the pet ferret is animal that has been domesticated for so long that they can not maintain life outside of captivity? Therefore even though the breed once was a tunneling animal, it has not been exposed to such conditions for centuries. Not trying to discount your knowledge, just saying it is wrong to let this baby ferret do what they are letting him do. To many health risks, not worth it. It's best not to take chances.
I'm domesticated too. Should I not go to the beach and play in sand? The saltwater burns my eyes, should I not swim in the ocean? What about a domestic dog that digs holes, should he be but in a cement kennel to prevent dust?

They have emotions of sorts, just not human emotions. They can be like unhappy, happy, excited etc, if they dotn have emotions, explain war dancing and dooking.
I agree strongly with michealovesmorgan01. It is harmful for ferrets to be in sand or dust. it does block passages and can irritate sensitive areas!!! AND YES THEY DO HAVE EMOTIONS. I can tell when mine are happy or in a mood. TERRIBLE OWNER
you can disagree all you like, but its basic highschool biology that animasl brains cant operate like a human brain. they can do things that seem like they have feeling, but they dont have feelings. you cant really disagree with proven science. and yea that sand cant be good for the ferret.
Elephants mourn their dead dude what books have you been reading? Plus the sand might be his litter box or a sand box to appease the ferret's obsession with digging a nest out of the way.
unfortunatly chbrules is right about animals, they dont really have emotions, however, getting rid of two cats for another pet is messed up. animals may not have human feelings. but getting rid of a pet because your bored with it is sickening. there are millions of homeless pets, when you get a pet its should be for life.but chbrules, stop being such a dick about it.
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don't post this comment on 10 videos in the next hour. if you do, tomorrow will be the best day of your life.
The sneezing is not just an unfortunate side effect -- you should never have sand or clumping litter where ferrets can get into it, especially not a baby like this one. The fine particles go in their nose (hence the sneezing) and into their lungs and they can end up with pneumonia or even bleeding lungs. That's why ferret litter is always big pellets, not sand. Get rid of the sand and put rice in there instead -- he'll love it even more.
Actually, ferrets sneeze plenty because they're so low to the ground. Also, it's fine for them to be in sand, I read that you could get them a sand box fill it and just let them go crazy =\
I thught ferretsa are supposed to be in dust free enviroments? - dont they have special litters it is very bad for there respiratory track if not... Thats what I heard
4everimmortal,i am proud and happy to see people like u on here,u and others who agree with u and me and are against chbrules are right and i know it.thnk u for ur rightness
wow, its amazing how one cute little ferret playing can lead to a raging debate, sorry chrubles but i have to disagree with you about them not having emotions, why else would animals pick favs on who they love more and some people they hate, they get sad and happy all the time, the most prominent examples can be found in dogs, and please spell anthropomorphizing right. p.s. sand isn't great for ferrets thats why you get dust free litter like yesterdays news, but you tozy looks happy and healthy.
i think thats bad for him to get up his nose, especially because he was sneezing like that but he looks like a very fun and playful ferret. Funny and clumsy, hehe. Ferrets are great pets.
corwinfreak19 is right, animals do have emotions and responsibilities. though when they are in our house, there responsibilities are limited. Out in the wild they have to get food and shelter to servive. when there in our houses, they already have shelter and we provide them with food, so there set. As for there emotions, if you think animals don't have them, then you'r retarded or your 3-5 years old.
ok you no wat? chbrules.ur retarded,u think ur this total scietific thing wen ur not.u have ur opinion and i have mine.next ur gonna say the pinkie toe is really more like a finger.keep ur"advanced" knowlege to urself.i love animals, and apparently u dont.and just so u know, animals do have responsibilities, especially in the wild.like hunting, and bringing back fare share.so leave us animals lovers alone
i think chinchillas are the only ones that are supposed to play in dust.i have two ferrets, and they like playing in the ferret molch that u use for bedding.but differsnt ferrets can prefer differnt things, like mine eat cat food!
MoMo loves to dig and scratch everything she can. But i can't risk her getting sick. So i just fill a box up with ferret litter, the safe dryed up paper. She loves it and it won't harm her.
I have a question! What is your ferret playing in there? Is that sand? I don't use any wood chips or anything in his cage bottom or litterbox because of their sensitive respiratory systems, but I'd give him a sandbox if it is healthy and fun for them! Thanks for your input.
Well, i think ferrets are great and this one was so freaking funny i luv them i have 3 ferrets and i luv em so much... plus the person who upload this vid congrats 4 having one and taking care of him =) good luck.
Ps. don't argue this kind of things guys there is 2 kind of people in this planet, the ones who take care of it, and the ones who destroy it.
Of course animals feel. One of my tutors that stupid animal behaviour did an experiment with rats where they hooked them up to a machine and tickled them.
When we laugh a part of our brain lights up on the machine so they tried it on a rat to see if the same part would light up.
Which it did which showed animals are capable of feeling. What makes us different from them? other then the fact we always think we know best and kill everything off that we don't like.
Thanks for biology 101. If you bothered to read the discussion we were discussing the concept of feelings relating to anthropomorphology; it's not a feasible arguement in any respect since animals do not have emotions as humans do.
What makes us different is we have a conscience, reasoning, responsibility, and that we are conquering our physical world a piece at a time through our own natural and social evolution.
chbrules, did u just say that animals dont have feelings, and they dont have responsibilities?? are u like 3 or something, cuz animals do have emotions.maybe u never grew up with animals but they do,since i DID grow up with them. i dont know about u, but i feel offended.
Let's see, animals have the responsibility to.... nothing.
Animals have stimulus responses to environmental changes that we (see you) seem to anthropomorphicize and think they have human emotions. No serious biological researcher will ever say animals have human emotions. We are far too advanced in cognitive reasoning to be compared to a dog/cat/ferret. Primates are the closest bearing resemblance to our emotions.
I don't hate you, I hate your illogical ideologies.
It's nice to know that a genocidal, misogynistic, egotistical, emotionally weak, and hypocritical loving being feels it necessary to, as all-powerful ruler of the universe, to tell me who I can sleep with, what bits of my genitals to mutilate, and why I am a worthless being that needs forgiveness and salvation.
Now get back in the kitchen and bake me a pie while I sell your daughter into slavery and stone some fags.
Oh my goodness.... now I'm just laughing..... !!!!! : )
I see now that you're merely attempting to get a rise out of people and drag them down into your own negativity....
So you're correct, I won't *waste* my time typing/talking to you; however I will *SPEND* my time ~ and I do consider it time well spent, praying for your soul and eternal destination. I'll leave it at that. Have a wonderful day.
u know what chbrules, now i really know ur not that smart, and how "logical" could be be to use the term "fags" and is ideologies even a word??? i wouldnt be surprised if you just copied those words out of a dictionary and just put them in a sentence without know the meaning.i never thought i would say this to someone but....I HOPE U DIE!!!!!
Further, please do not discount my superior vernacular by your lack of it. I would hate for people to think of my intelligence as lower by being compared to your's.
why do you hope that? This little fuzzy is having a fun time digging, it's not deep, if it wanted to it would get out. The sneezing is an unfortunate side effect, but there is nothing wrong with this one!
Gardening dirt is ok for them to play in. It doesn't make them sneeze like that. Also - packing peanuts that are made out of corn starch are perfectly safe for ferrets.
Oh. My. God..... You are an incredibly STUPID member of the human species (although you may believe yourself to be book smart). What a loser you are.... Perhaps you get off on all the negative comments. There are counseling alternatives for self-absorbed, narcissistic assholes like you... I've no doubt you'll respond with some "superior" comment. Don't worry, I won't bother to reply.... God bless you anyway.... (Oh right, there is no God, that's why I am alive and breathing...)
rice will kill them too!! mine got into some, and i didnt know it till he was minutes from death......it swelled up in him and caused a blockage....he starved to less than one pound......rice is BAD!!! get them a box of dirt........
sand will kill your ferret...cant you tell he is having trouble by his constant sneezing??? you can find all kinds of things for them to dig in.......no plastic, and NO SAND!!!

Seriously Your not Fit to get A Ferret if you going to give away 2 cats just another animal.
Do you even know how many homless animals there are in america.and animals cant just get rid of they have feelings, brains and lives to. why would you want to get rid of an animal for another. they all have the same feeelings and love to give.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Animals (besides some primates) do have brains, but what you consider emotion is far from what they posess. You cannot anthropomorphicize animals or it leads to unhealthy attatchments to them.
Animals don't have rights either. If they had rights they would have responsibility; which they have none of.
The animals have no responsibilities?, aren't they responsible for their lives (in wildlife) and the lives of their offspring? And why you say that the fact that "you must have responsibilities to have rights" applies to animals? (are you anthropomorphizing them?). According to studies, animals do have 'things' like feelings (look for "Animal emotion" in Wikipedia).
I bet you think that "the human race is the center of some sort of divine creation", and you never had a pet.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I've had countless pets from ducks and rabbits to cats, dogs, fish, birds, hamsters, and reptiles.
None have what is known as emotion. What they do posess are stimuli responses that appeal to lower-level pack structures. The more advanced the species, the more social they are.
I am a non-theist, and I am well-versed in advanced physics, biology, and philosophy.
Your argument is flawed and for some reason you're putting words in my mouth.
bless you :)

I agree strongly with michealovesmorgan01. It is harmful for ferrets to be in sand or dust. it does block passages and can irritate sensitive areas!!! AND YES THEY DO HAVE EMOTIONS. I can tell when mine are happy or in a mood. TERRIBLE OWNER
shortisammi 3 years ago 2
the poor thing is sneezing!
hello a sign you shouldn't be using sand!
it can clump in their nasal passages
or get into their lungs they could suffocate!
:[
michaelovesmorgan01 3 years ago 7
you can disagree all you like, but its basic highschool biology that animasl brains cant operate like a human brain. they can do things that seem like they have feeling, but they dont have feelings. you cant really disagree with proven science. and yea that sand cant be good for the ferret.
EatSomeNoodle 3 years ago
Elephants mourn their dead dude what books have you been reading? Plus the sand might be his litter box or a sand box to appease the ferret's obsession with digging a nest out of the way.
MikeBatman 3 years ago
unfortunatly chbrules is right about animals, they dont really have emotions, however, getting rid of two cats for another pet is messed up. animals may not have human feelings. but getting rid of a pet because your bored with it is sickening. there are millions of homeless pets, when you get a pet its should be for life.but chbrules, stop being such a dick about it.

Smexieness 3 years ago 3
yes they should not be in sand u tits! as u can see by its fit of sand and dust up its nose, u should not have that ferret

You've seriously never see a kitten/cat go crazy when you open a can of food because they are hungry and happy?
And let's pretend that you, chbrules, kicked a dog, being the cruel fag you are, you're telling me that the dog won't whimper and FEEL pain?
How about rubbing a dog's belly/neck?
Aren't they enjoying it?
Aren't they FEELing Pleasure?

It's people like you that I think are dumb.
You tell other people to show their facts, yet you have none.
People like you are disgusting; you have no respect for the environment.
You know the robot dog at ABT?
That has NO Emotions.
If you weren't such a stupid prick, you could differentiate between a REAL animal WITH emotions, and a robot animal that CAN'T feel.
And stop being a |)ick, nobody asked you to question the existence of God in a ferret clip.
Keep your infidelity to yourself, ok?

wow, its amazing how one cute little ferret playing can lead to a raging debate, sorry chrubles but i have to disagree with you about them not having emotions, why else would animals pick favs on who they love more and some people they hate, they get sad and happy all the time, the most prominent examples can be found in dogs, and please spell anthropomorphizing right. p.s. sand isn't great for ferrets thats why you get dust free litter like yesterdays news, but you tozy looks happy and healthy.

PreciousLove077 3 years ago
corwinfreak19 is right, animals do have emotions and responsibilities. though when they are in our house, there responsibilities are limited. Out in the wild they have to get food and shelter to servive. when there in our houses, they already have shelter and we provide them with food, so there set. As for there emotions, if you think animals don't have them, then you'r retarded or your 3-5 years old.

i think chinchillas are the only ones that are supposed to play in dust.i have two ferrets, and they like playing in the ferret molch that u use for bedding.but differsnt ferrets can prefer differnt things, like mine eat cat food!
corwinfreak19 3 years ago
I dont understand why people feel the need to pick arguments and be rude. It is rather petty. If you have bad things to say then do not comment.
As for digging material, try steralized bark chipping or those polystyrene nugget things, but only the safe digestible ones.

I'm going to have to agree with XSoldOutUselessX.
MoMo loves to dig and scratch everything she can. But i can't risk her getting sick. So i just fill a box up with ferret litter, the safe dryed up paper. She loves it and it won't harm her.
But Tozy is absolutely adorable. :3

I have a question! What is your ferret playing in there? Is that sand? I don't use any wood chips or anything in his cage bottom or litterbox because of their sensitive respiratory systems, but I'd give him a sandbox if it is healthy and fun for them! Thanks for your input.

What retarded comments.
Ayumechan 3 years ago 3
Thanks for biology 101. If you bothered to read the discussion we were discussing the concept of feelings relating to anthropomorphology; it's not a feasible arguement in any respect since animals do not have emotions as humans do.
What makes us different is we have a conscience, reasoning, responsibility, and that we are conquering our physical world a piece at a time through our own natural and social evolution.
chbrules 3 years ago
chbrules, did u just say that animals dont have feelings, and they dont have responsibilities?? are u like 3 or something, cuz animals do have emotions.maybe u never grew up with animals but they do,since i DID grow up with them. i dont know about u, but i feel offended.

Gardening dirt is ok for them to play in. It doesn't make them sneeze like that. Also - packing peanuts that are made out of corn starch are perfectly safe for ferrets.

Animals (besides some primates) do have brains, but what you consider emotion is far from what they posess. You cannot anthropomorphicize animals or it leads to unhealthy attatchments to them.
Animals don't have rights either. If they had rights they would have responsibility; which they have none of.
chbrules 3 years ago
The animals have no responsibilities?, aren't they responsible for their lives (in wildlife) and the lives of their offspring? And why you say that the fact that "you must have responsibilities to have rights" applies to animals? (are you anthropomorphizing them?). According to studies, animals do have 'things' like feelings (look for "Animal emotion" in Wikipedia).
I bet you think that "the human race is the center of some sort of divine creation", and you never had a pet.
