I remember riding this... I got stuck on the part with like these ghostly opera singers or something... And it was infront of one of those pop-up faces too O_o That was the scariest thing that ever happened
@dzenetzi "Hurry back." The story line is that there are 999 happy haunts and they're looking for a new "gloom mate" to fill the extra space. There's one condition, though: you have to be in the afterlife. So little Leota says, at the end of the ride, "Hurry back, hurry back! Be sure to bring your death certificate!"
Wahoo! Now that Horizons at EPCOT is long gone the Haunted Mansion again returns to the top of My Favorite Attraction on Earth. It's SO good. Fantastic music throughout, the Ghost Host, the Graveyard, the Ballroom, phenomenal attention to detail, cool and dark. (Which is great on those beastly host Florida summers.)
-Sometimes near the end of the day when everyone is watching fireworks I would just keep running around and around, riding the Doombuggies in the Mansion.
I got stuck a couple of times. The first I was by the ballroom and the part with all the spiders. I wish I would have got stuck at the mirror part though. That would have been crazy fun.
Quite possibly my favorite ride of all time. I'm usually a coaster fanatic, but this ride holds a very special place in my heart. Funny thing is, I've only been on it once, and that was back in '77. It made that much of an impact on me. I really hope to go back one day, and ride it again. Grim Grinning Ghosts, and cheers!
I remember going to WDW when I was about... 7? I went with my family and we brought a babysitter, well since my brothers were too little to ride, I got to go with my babysitter, Ali. So we wait close to an hour for this ride, and when we got to the stretching room I about pooped my pants. The pictures turning to death, the lights going out, it was all too much for me.. So I ended up chickening out. Ali rode it, however. :)
Has anyone been able to find the first hidden mickey on this ride? I've found the ballroom one and the one in the graveyard, but I couldn't find the first one! It's supposed to be in a portraits frame in the first room in the ride, but I can't find it! I didn't see it in the aging portrait, or any in the stretching room, and there were too many portraits to look at carefully in the loading room!
@5blackcat12 Hidden mickeys are basically mickey-head shapes that you can find in many of the rides and attractions at the disney parks. They are often just three round objects arranged to look like a mickey head. For instance, on the dining room table in the ballroom of the haunted mansion, on one of the place settings, the 3 plates are arranged into a mickey head shape. There is a book that tells you all about hidden mickeys and gives clues about where they are in different attractions.
im soooo excited that im going to disney for the first time EVER next summer and im going there w/ my best friend and her family!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!!!
I prefer DL's HM than WDW's. Mainly because DL's has the Haunted Mansion Holiday, looks like a real mansion, and is the original. WDW's looks more like a hotel than a mansion. It's still a good ride, but I prefer DL's more than WDW's.
The ring in the cement is gone, but I think its still in the Disneyland HM. It's funny because a castmember had to tell us the ring wasn't there because my friends and I looked at the ground near the HM for about 10 minutes.
this is the best ride ever. the stupidest things kept popping up and scaring me. oh well. theres stuff to look out for like when u go past the carrige in line..ur suppose to listen for horse hoofs walking. and when u walk out ur suppose to look out for a wedding ring in the cement. theres something else but i cant remember it!!! oh well.
Oh wow, i remember when i was 7, and i went on that ride.. lol, i was scared for life! Even when that little lady thing at the end, was like, Hurry, back.. i thought they said something, but i forgot.
i went on this before and after they remodeled it. both were great but the revamped one was more worth it to ride mainly because it spooked me out alittle bit more which is a good thing in my book.
ahhh i love this ride! the thing in the room is kinda creepy when you're all standing together and the painting's move...but the ride part is funn! I'm going back Decemeber....i can't wait!
Hey disneyparks! Omg i love disney i have beeen there like 6 times and i never geet sick of it..its like i grew up with it! I know every single ride and when you update your stuff like in 2007 you were updating the haunted mansion and it was better than ever! I hope to be back there soon!!
i cried when the elevator was going down you know when the people appear in the portraits i was pounding the door with my fists but it wasnt that scary after all
don't the paintings change to like ghosts or something? i just remember the elevator part always freaked me out when i was little haha but it's an awesome ride
i don't care that u think i'm a whimp! so what! some people are scared of things that others aren't. idk i may go on the ride again but i'm not sure..... it doesn't really scare me, it just kinda freaks me out a tad bit....
I've only been to the WDW version once. :) All the other times have been Disneyland Resort California. I go to the California one about once or twice a year.
lol i just watched the trailer and was like oh wow this looks like a really cool ride, but then grim grinning ghosts started playing and i was singing a long. I really wanna go on it noww!
I just went on this a few days ago, and I was scared to death (ha ha) when the bride's bouquet turned into an axe. D: I'd never been on that ride before!
when i went on this ride, we had technical difficulties for like 15-20, and we were smart and shoved 3 people into one of those chairs. it wasnt very comfortable
then the ride finally started again but had ANOTHER technical difficulty after about 3 minutes, but it didnt last at long
so i didnt really enjoy the ride as much as i could lol
the best part is when a ghost magically appears in your seat next to you in the mirror
WDW's Mansion is actually an improvment in some ways (not ALL - some!).
The facade is a little more stereotypical haunted house as there's 2 of these (the other at TDL), plus DL's is only available at present between february and September making it a part-time ride due to NBC overlay.
I'm sorry, but while most things at DL beat WDW (POTC in particular!!!), I prefer this Mansion.
@strawberryblondeee= Of course I know they have a Haunted mansion. I've been inside it. I meant that WDW doesn't have an Indiana Jone ride. They have a stunt show which I love though. I hope the Fantasyland attraction turns out okay.
is thiss ridee really scaryy im going in mayy and i would go on it but iff itss properrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr scary i think ill pass haha x
LOL I remember in '02 I was freaked out, I didn't want to go on this ride! My dad made me go on it. So, I had my visor blocking my vision and my fingers pluging my ears! When we went to Disneyland in August, same with me, I really enjoyed this ride!
I remember way back in '92 or '93 when I was a kid and this ride freaked me out! The ghost host's voice was so scary and the whole time I was screaming "we need to call the ghostbusters!!" lol. Ah, being 5 years old was so much fun.
I was afraid of this when i went for the first time as a child in '98 and refused to go on! then in '07, I was ready to face my fears, but found it closed for some refurb. I went in January this year and I swear I went on this 8 times! It's such an amazing ride!
Yeah, the scariest thing in it I think is the popping heads in the graveyard. There's also a talking ghost bride in the attic that's pretty creepy but not too bad.
Sigh, I just love this ride. Only ever been to the one here in Florida, but I'd love to go to California and see the original too. And I'm definitely one of those people who mouth the entire stretching room narration too lol
I've only been to the one in California...and I love it!!! I love how the people who like me have riden the ride tons of times always quote the voice in the elevator word by word...oh and I know I'm 21 and it's a Disney ride but I always get a little creeped out whenever I ride it...
