16week Ultrasound Scan

cool i have 1 in 4 weeks and then they will tell me wut "they" are :) so happy i want both (girl and boy) but i'll be happy  with wut god gives me:) i had 1 yesterday and my poor babies look squish in there i'm 14 weeks now will they be able to tell in 4 more weeks?

they can tell wat ur having early as 15 weeks depending on how the baby is lying

so are you allowed to take your video camera in to the room with you to film it?

I recorded my DVD on my video cam when I got home (couldn't figure out how to save the dvd to my pc).

You might be allowed to take your camera into the scan though, I'm not sure.

This is a private scan from Babybond. It was an undiagnostic scan.

If you have a hospital scan they don't give you a dvd but you can buy a photo.

If you can afford it I would definitely go for an undiagnostic scan, in my experience the hospitals dont show you the baby for long, but with a private scan they show you your baby playing for 10-15mins. It's very exciting at the time, and a lovely keepsake.

Refuse the ultrasound, my wife was sceptical until she did her own research into it, then she too refused the scan. I beg you just do your own research, it is your childs life after all. Btw I have not been able to find any standardized safety limits for what these machines put out.

In Australia they make you have a scan between 11-13 weeks to determain any deformalitys in the baby if there is any. People have being doing this for years and i cant see there to be a problem with them if there was hospital wouldnt be doing it.

Actually we attended the appointment for our child to be scanned(but no scan), and explained to the doctor why we had concerns about the procedure and the doctor was most interested in our research and actually asked if we had any documentation on the subject which we did(prepared in advance)...he was clueless up to that point, just like most people are, the hospitals just follow protocols that are laid out for them, just like any other profession. Blind leading the blind if you ask me.

I am 16 weeks and not due for an ultrasound for about another month. Can the sex be determined at this point? Congrats on the little one :)

hi, i found out the sex of my baby at 16 weeks - that was the point of that ultrasound, it was just a sexing scan not a diagnostic one. the earliest you can find out is 16wks thru an abdominal scan.. so yeh if you have the normal 20 week scan, you will be able to find out the sex of your baby - if your hospital allows it (some dont). congrats and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy :)
