As a first time voter,I do not understand what appeal there is to raising government spending, regardless of what its for. The fact our national debt continues to rise haunts me. Someone let me know if our debt is going to pay itself off, or whether my generation is going to be paying taxes on the level of failing European nations. When I'm older and earning money on my own, I want to keep my money, not be paying off the debt created by people who are long dead.

There's also a lot of stimulus money that hasn't even been spent yet, but will be dished out to grow our infrastructure so that we can actually support more jobs. Infrastructure is the most important part of the economic foundation.

Our economy now reminds me of the Japanese "Lost Decade" of the 90's where government involvement slowed down an economic comeback. The reason we have had some growth and profitability is because business has done what it has always done: adapt and prosper in spite of unnecessary government involvement. I believe the most important part of our economic foundation is the freedom to fulfill the needs of the consumer.

As a first time voter,I do not understand what appeal there is to raising government spending, regardless of what its for. The fact our national debt continues to rise haunts me. Someone let me know if our debt is going to pay itself off, or whether my generation is going to be paying taxes on the level of failing European nations. @exposurejd It hasn't had the awesome effect the obamaniacs wanted, but then it did far more than nothing. We have had SOME growth, just not as much as we'd hoped. There's also a lot of stimulus money that hasn't even been spent yet, but will be dished out to grow our infrastructure so that we can actually support more jobs. Infrastructure is the most important part of the economic foundation.

Our economy now reminds me of the Japanese "Lost Decade" of the 90's where government involvement slowed down an economic comeback. The reason we have had some growth and profitability is because business has done what it has always done: adapt and prosper in spite of unnecessary government involvement. I believe the most important part of our economic foundation is the freedom to fulfill the needs of the consumer.

The problem I have with those great Progressive & advanced liberal ideals that have been tried time & time again since the beginning of time is that the workers work & the slackers don't. Slackers complain about the rich getting richer to cover up the fact that their too lazy to work for an income. Meanwhile a few of those that are willing to work their fingers to the bone & risk everything might get rich, if the government doesn't take it from them first to give it to the slackers.
