  • this is amazing!!!! I take my hat off to them.

  • They did pretty well considering Japanese cannot pronounce the letters L, R, B or the welsh f (not ff)

    Well done. =D

  • also, why were they singing this in the first place?

  • @StephenCymraeg Because they know a good song.

  • @StephenCymraeg I knew it was you! What a guess! If those two statements aren't mutually exclusive...

  • they speak better Welsh than me :S

  • The Japanese are very interesting and inovative people - welsh girl loves Japan. matene

  • And they sing it better than any Engish choir I've heared .....................come to think of it I ain't ever heared one try !

When is the Japanese national rugby team coming to visit us in Wales again ? we'll ask Penygraig RFC to mow the pitch this time ! LOL

  • Good effort by the lads there but i dont see why the japs are singing our anthem. What was it for?

  • Good job.

  • This is bizarre, and their accents are very convincing!

  • That is a welsh not a Japanese accent, and belive me,i know a welsh accent

  • they pronounced gollasant, wyf and gwlad wrong so obviously not a welsh accent ronaldihnofan1

  • can you speak welsh? have a welsh accent? DONT ARGUE SOMEONE EXPERIENCED

Don't be such a Dai Bach Capitalist!

  • Chwara teg de - Washis. Mynd i ddysgu anthem cendlaethol

Siapan rwan a'i bostio fo yma.

  • sounded more welsh than me n im from wales very good

  • as if! gossassant they cant do the dark L

  • Dark L isn't a ll sound. Dark L is the L sound in Russian and Arabic.

Chwarae teg i'r bois Siapaniaidd! Dal ati!

  • Dark l is the l in full, or loose in a gogledd acen.

  • It's actually a voiceless lateral fricative.

  • Da iawn :)

  • That's impressive! Why did they learn the Welsh anthem? Surely no-one in Japan has heard of Wales, or St David's Day?!

  • This was filmed at a St David's Day Festival in Osaka, complete with Folk Dancing, Welshcakes and more...

  • That's mad! Very good though. They sing it better than a lot of Welsh people I know.

  • nice! good if they translate the hymn into japanese

  • Yes, I noticed that they missed out the 'll' sound. Are there any links with Wales with these people. Da iawn, chwarae teg iddyn nhw.

  • FUCK OFF YOU WANKER....IT'S "LETS SPEAK PROPER, LIKE" ASSHOLES LIKE YOU THAT SHOULD BE ENGLISH RATHER THAN WELSH. MAYBE YOU'SD BE MORE COMFY IN CAAAAAARDIFF....AT LEAST THES JAPANESE MEN TRIED, AND DID DAMN WELL! DO YOU KNOW ALL THE WORDS, AS WELL AS THE MUSICAL INFECTURE? i BET NOT!

  • Very well performed and the pronounciations almost perfect. Missed out on the double "l" sound though. Intrigued as to how a Japanese choir decided to learn the national anthem of Wales.

  • Because it's very beautiful! ;)

  • Yes,it is a beautiful anthem, so is Els Segadors. Catalunya am byth.
