Rock forests but very few trees and they take forever to mature due to the short summers. In some ways I miss Island/Iceland but in others I'm so glad to have gotten off that place in Dec 82. My oldest son and I used to fish off the docks in Keflavik for flounder, we've been all over Grindavik and I used to go to Hofn to swap out ammo with the military there. Is the old Patterson Field still by the gate - I guess the customs police no longer check cars with the base closed.

Well, yes... But were is the forest?

Iceland has no forests. "Forest Road" is their word for back country road.

@debivort
Not really...
And Iceland has forests, just none big enough for an industry... you really do need a gigantic forest for an industry.
Newspapers in New York take a rainforest every day.

@kaa3164 If you find yourself lost in an Icelandic forest, stand up.
