The flare can disrupt the Earth's magnetic field because of the weakness that we've created for it. Pollution doesn't just affect the Ozone layer, it also affects the Earth's magnetic field. Without the field, the Earth is vulnerable to Solar flares, and around 2012, there is expected to be a big one, after which, I can't remember what is supposed to happen, but it could trigger Super-volcanoes like Yellowstone National park, or massive Earthquakes with a magnitude of 50.0 or more!

Bugstomper2 are you really living on planet Earth. Few years back Canada power lines we hit by a Solar Flare, which is confirmed by cientists. And that was not a major solar storm. And you do not own satellits but depend on them to watch your TV, to use your mobile phone and even been here on Youtube. OMG such is the gift of ignorance!

The galaxy is wheels within wheels. People have overlooked this fact. The percession of our planet it not because of some "wobble". It's becaue of a circular motion that our solar system makes in the lesses spiraling arm that we are in. That process is about 26000 years long. Twice in that time we pass through the gravitational disk of the galaxy. It's that passage that is the root of the 2012 phenomenon. It's the increased gravity that will make the poles and other 2012 phenomenon hapen.
