1st off, the Order of the Eastern Star consists of both men and women. Granted, there are usually more women than men. 2nd, the Bible is an ordinary King James Bible, albeit printed especially for the OES,with illustrations of the five Biblical women who are honored by the OES as representing character traits we should all emulate in our lives. The name reflects the fact that when created, masonry had only Christians. The Eastern Star referenced is the Christmas star the wise men followed.
Where is there evidence of Charles T Russell using the OES Lodge for bible study? It's probably not a huge deal as he needed a meeting place for his studies. After all, Freemasons, and those Orders were so popular in his day that practically everyone was one. Except him, I wrote a lodge and researched it all.
I got the same one but its an older version, I also have 2 little brown books from that order, one with the oes symbol on the front called "the ritual of the order of the eastern star" and the other called "the keys of the secret work" (which is simply a key to some other order for the rituals of the oes, it also has secrets and stuff handwritten in it).
That book is available in any Masonic bookstore like Lauterers which is online...It's not a big secret...I am a man and am affiliated with the Eastern Stars...Men can be affiliated but they are not members...The WP stands for Worthy Patron which is like a figure head...I am first and foremost a Mason and a very proud one...there's plenty of books on the subject of the OES other than the ritual book you have...get knowledge to get understanding...Bro. Powell 32* F&AM PHA...SO MOTE IT BE!
boy, would I love to get my hands on a copy of that bible.
also on my wish list is the 1950 edition of the nwt with the part about the name jehovah coming from that monk raymundus marti or something like that, and that they chose to keep it the same because it is widely accepted as his name. I'd plunk that sucker right in front of the next JW who told me that Jehovah is the holy name.
I've had debates with them before about it, and their excuse is "Jehovah is his name in English." You can show them all the documentation you want but they will just keep repeating that over and over. I know.
@utukkuxul I think the best way to explain it is that 'Jehovah' is the best translation for English. People speaking other languages have their translation of his name which of course would be different. I think the important thing is that we pray to our Father by using his name, as Jesus gave the model prayer in Matt 6:9,10. Let your name be sanctified. Would you have time to show me why Jehovah would not be proper to use in your opinion? Do you use Yahweh? Jehovah is in the KJV Psalm 83:18etc.
Actually I worked in a warehouse for a little while where they bought up huge boxes of books from thrift stores and other various places, processed them, and then put them up for sale online and in their bookstore. That was one they would have just thrown out, so I took it. It was amazing the number of Masonic books that came through, plus I even got to look at some old Crowley books, other old books on ceremonial magic and stuff, never got to take those though.
Sound like you where working in a good spot to find old book of interest..
Old book like those can hold a lot of secret. Did you look for notes written in it?
Even old bible where used as a sort of bank.....LOL
I remember my day tell me how some people in the old days would put birth date records of their families, or property deeds, any important document went in their bibles pages....LOL
I'm failing to see your point. I was testing out a camera and showing a book I found. I don't give a fuck if it's the seal of anything or where you can buy it. Eat a dick.

I'm not sure what you are trying to illustrate with this video, other than "Look! I have no idea what I'm talking about!"

Did you find the book haunting old book stories?
I sure miss doing that.......we don`t have as many of them down here in Az..
I remember going to a old book store with dad when I was a kid..
It was in the basement of a old Salvation Army story in a old building.
This place was probably the scariest place you could ever be in for a 8 year old back in the 60`s
Rarely did you see anyone ever go down there and the book where so old you could smell the mold in all the old books.

I've owned Bibles that had blank family trees printed in them that you could fill in, so yeah they used them for that.
But no I didn't find any notes.

Esther didn't get anyone murdered, as a matter of fact, she saved her people

You mean when they slaughtered thousands of people? Oh I forgot, those who "weren't her people" don't count.
