  • Can you move up octaves on controller keyboards? or can you only play the notes on the actuall keyboard?? Please help someone?

  • @21Placebo there should be up and down octave buttons on it somewhere

  • @21Placebo to answer your question, yes, on MOST midi keyboards there will be a button which allows you to shift octaves up or down

  • Can anybody help me .. I have a M audio 49 2nd gen .. and I can't hear it ?? I conected it to my suround system .. and can you only use it with softwere ???

  • @mrfayfay7 I don't think how you can connect this midi keyboard directly to your amplifier.

  • @mrfayfay7 the keyboard doesn't make any sound, it just sends commands to your computer to use soft synths/vst plugins, so you need to connect it to a computer and connec the computer to your sound system.

  • Okay, one question - Does it work as a controller in Cubase?

  • nope he is an englishmen who has spent too long in the states

  • does it have sound in it or no

  • what does Midi mean?

    thanks :)

  • But will it blend?

  • @PyroShock63 probably not :D

  • Does the size of my controller keyboard effect how much I can play. If I get a 25 key controller keyboard, will this limit how many notes I can play on a program like pro tools for example?

  • not trying to spam but figured people might be interested..

***IF ANYONE WANTS TO BUY THIS CONTROLLER, MESSAGE ME. I AM SELLING IT ON EBAY. MINT CONDITION***

  • Estos aparatitos se ven entretenidos B)

  • Good video....I use midi on pc ..

  • I wonder about that too. is this keyboard compatible with Fruity loops studio? :)

  • @ZikDreams There are YouTube videos of people using it in FL Studio, so I think yes.

  • can i play this in fl studio sexy voice by the way thanks

  • I LOVE YOU VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What software are you using ???

  • who cares bout his curser thanks for your time hommie

  • garageband compatible?

  • @jpdub45 Yes, it will work with any MIDI software on a modern Mac. You don't even have to install any software - just plug and play.

  • Hi...how did you get the pads to control the drums while having the keys control the piano aspect?

  • @KingRichardX i THINK if u get ur set up a keyboard channel and a channel ( like FPC on FL) to control ur drum pads and then create a layer selecting the two as children, the two should play simultaneously through the layer channel :P...hope this helps...im a newbie and just getting used to the terminology

  • @KingRichardX You can set the pads to a different MIDI channel than the keyboard - each pad can even be on different channels. You can also assign the pads to any note or control that you want, either from the Axiom (touch the pad and press a few buttons), or using the Enigma software on your computer (click and fill in text boxes).

  • Can You make Beats With Tat Keyboard

    Sorry For My english

  • How can I use this with protools

  • is it better than the akay mpk25??

  • I have the 49 keys model. Bought it a while ago - and it had the sticky keys issue, Axiom users know what I'm talking about. Took M-audio like years to acknowledge the problem, so they changed it with a new one, and it has one of the best keyboards I played with :) Lucky I was still within the warranty.

  • can i use this with fl 9 or cubase 5?

  • @lilsoulja901 yes

  • @Beatz41Productions the pads to?

  • @DecodeCinema No you do not need a sound card or audio interface, it connects via usb.

  • CAN ANY1 TELL ME DO U NEED A SOUNDCARD WITH THIS I THINK NO BUT IM NOT SURE

  • I have Reasons and if I load up a patch I don't get the drum effect on the drum pad, it just plays the patch I loaded why is that?

  • does this connect via usb? also is this compatible with ableton 8?

  • is this keyboard compatible with the Akai MPC1000 ?

  • I wish I knew how to use these natural sounds instead of plug ins when in Pro Tools, just to see how it sounds, but not sure how. Please tell me if you can. Thanks

  • does this work on fl?

  • @vajenj Of course!

  • does it come with sounds that i can install?

  • are they have that keyboard for windows 7 ?

  • @pauldrumful I'm sure it will work on all pc's dude.

  • @pauldrumful Yeah I dont think that would be a problem, connecting to a Windows 7 PC

  • im not sure whether to get this or the oxygen 49

    can you help me out?

    thanks

  • ok i have a question?? how do i program the pads and keys to do like you did i have the new axiom 25 and not sure how to do that

  • Does it work for Fruity Loops??

  • wots best, microkorg or this one

  • @dinoblackgrape completely different things, the microkorg is a hadrware synth,

this is a midi keyboard and controller

  • im trying to get rid of mu keystudio 49 and get an axiom 25. any suggestions??

  • i just bought one. Really nice

  • @warchild1976 1st things first: Don't ask youtube for advice.

  • @scrapeape youtube is the advice king

  • I'm not crazy about the knobs on this unit. You have to keep turning, turning and turning to get them to complete a normal 0-127 filter sweep. It's really annoying.

  • Hello! The keyboard and the drum pad sounds are neat. What sounds are you using?

  • I have no probs' with my axiom25...nice vid.

  • He has a smooth voice also likre he just play in a jazz band :D

  • is this good for extreme begginers? lol. cuz i just got into beat making and im only using fl studio, but i really want to make real beats. what should i do.

  • @CMLbeats ITS GREAT FOR STARTERS I DONT USE KEYS MY SELF FOR BEATS BUT I WOULD ALSO RECOMEND FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD NEW SOUNDS FL STUDIO HAS SOME GREAT HIDDEN ONES

  • the knobs suck.

  • @Elektriber

    calibrate them

  • @streetxlite

the movement isn't fluent , they click and they're no good.

  • @Elektriber

Like I said, Calibrate them or go buy a microKontrol.

    The preset settings are stupid

  • @streetxlite

    i never bothered , i got an oxygen8 instead ;)

  • the 25 key doesnt have the faders on it

  • which program were you using this with during the demo?

  • Does this have speakers built in?

  • @Avenger522 no, but if you have a mac, you can use garageband as a monitor, or probably plug it into usb speakers (probably)

  • @Avenger522 no i have this model

  • Why won't windows vista support the axiom25?says I can't install using my drivers cd.

  • update ur drivers it might work if not contact M-Audio support = )

  • just manually install it and set windows to search your hard drive I had the same problem hope that helps man....!!!!!

  • prolly need to go to the m audios site, and download drivers specifically for vista, 32 or 64 bit

  • Try ebay there's loads on there.

  • how do you set the pads!!!!!????

  • Is the keyboard "sticky"? I have read a lot about the Axiom stuff, the 61 in particular having sticky keys. there is even a video on YouTube demonstrating it.

  • as far as i know there used to be a problem at the production process for some of the 61´s, that were produced at a certain timespan.

I have heard, that they solved the problem and traded the ones with sticky keys for new ones.

  • Can you get an external power supply and hook it up to speakers or do you have to use a PC?

  • the PC houses your sounds/sample, there are no sounds in a midi controller. It does have a plug for a 12v power cord, but i don't think you get a power cord with it.

  • There aren't any sounds built into this keyboard. Most keyboard controllers are totally dependent upon your computer and plugins to create the sound. This just controls the sounds.

  • i have heard that the axiom 61 is really cheap and is not reliable.. such as the keys, the faders and knobs...is that true?

  • you also need a good sound card in your pc or else it will sound like shit

  • do you need an external sound card with this midi controller?

  • Is your ... mouse cursor just chillin' underneath your watermark there?

  • Wait so your teling me with this i don't have to install any drivers it's jut plug and play????

  • Yes, it is a "class-compliant device. No driver is needed for basic use."

I'm using the Axiom 49 in Windows 7 Ultimate x64, all works perfectly - and I just connected it through USB.

  • @TheKidProductions yes its plug and play :)

  • @TheKidProductions

So was the Xboard, but they don't make them anymore :(

So due to the lack of keyboards here in that price range, I'm looking at the axiom 61, I've got a bad feeling about M audio products.

  • @TheKidProductions that is what you can do supposedly

  • @TheKidProductions The Driver CD that you should of got is outdated so you can't you use it anyway...but to answer your question yet it is plug-in play.

  • This is a midi keyboard, which is simply just a controller for your computer to play your virtual synths. so no, you can't plug it into an amp and start jammin ;)

  • perfect if you have reason because that program has sooooooo many sick synthesisers you can use with this

  • @codybird344 you seem to know some of this stuff, so what would be the difference between a MIDI Controller keyboard and a Synthesizer?

  • A MIDI controller has no preloaded sounds on it, it is simply to control the sounds you have it connected to (like a hardware synth or your computer). A synthesizer has all the sounds on it.

  • need a comp.

  • im thinking of getting one of these midi control keyboards for use with garage band( yes, garageband im broke :L) but is the axiom compatable with garageband because i havent seen any videos on here with the two combined :/

    silly question :L

  • Yes. I sometimes use mine with garage band on preset 20 and it works very well.

  • does it work for fl studio????

  • yeah, but i had some problems getting it to install.

don't bother installing the drivers or the keyboard itself, just plug it in, let your computer do its thing, and then once it's finished auto-configuring, open fl studio and go to the options menu, go to midi settings, and then enable the controller.

  • got one of these in a 49 comin for xmas.along with me 8 inch monitors. happy days

  • HOW in the WORLD do i possibly use this keyboard as a controller for ACID PRO 6????????? been tryin for months

  • although this is quite a good screen here, its backlit and its blue

    ya!

  • i bought this last week...and i tried to download the cd on my toshiba laptop...and it said it was not compatible...someone help plz!

  • can u record straight from here or do you need a program

  • sounds good!

  • Can this generate sound of its own or I have to connect it with external sound modules- computer software?

  • you need a sound module(MIDI cable) or a software(MIDI cable or USB cable) or you can conbine both. this cannot generate sounds on its own

  • no you'll need a comp/program

  • Comment removed

  • the axiom has a mind of it's own.

it's so cheap because it's cheaply made.

go with the mpk or the axiom pro if you can afford to.

  • what did you mean it "has a mind of it's own"? I've been thinking about getting one.

  • So, would this be a good investment to go along with something like fl studio

  • @guitarguy316 yes

  • This looks cool... but i think I'll go with the MPK25. Roughly the same price and just a few more features. Thanks for the post anyway.

  • Not fully compatible with Pro Tools

  • Guys im a noob...i wanna start producing my own music but i dont know what kind (brand etc) i should get!plz help me!

  • If your computer has Firewire

go on amazon and search podcaststudio firewire

that will get you the headphones (monitors)

and a mixing board plus a good mic and the cords (which add up if you buy alone)

If you want a midi controleer get an axiom for 100 dollars on craigslist.

this will get you started cheap. under 500

if you want to blow more quid you can get maudio monitors for 150 on ebay.

  • I think the STFU brand would be your best bet.

  • HAHA! You're a funny guy.

  • thanks dude!!u are such a fag!

  • can u use the axiom without a computer ?

  • I don't think so, it's a MIDI controller, it doesn't actually make the music, just controls a program on the computer that does.

  • You can use it with a synthesizer, or anything else with a MIDI input. It's only a controller, though, so it can't make sounds by itself.

  • i think no man cause is a midi keyboard

  • check out the new Axiom Pro on M audio's website.

  • i want one!!

  • But I Bet You'll Need A Credit Card And That's Something I Aint Got . But Would That Be Better Than A Regular Midi Keyboard That Cost 200$

  • Bout $250 dollars, not too bad really.

  • How Much Would That Muthafucka Cost?

  • 153 on amazon

  • 250 MSRP 180 Retail

  • lovely thanks alot very informative im getting the 49 soon

  • great review! fast and informative

  • I am thinking of buy one, but I have one concern.

Is it able to talk to Logic and merge with my recordings on logic?

  • yes

  • excellent review. Thank you.

  • I think most M-Audio products are compatible with logic

  • Finally, a comprehensive review! Thanks.
