Nokia won't fail, they design and make a lot of the cell phone components that other companies use in their phones. Kinda similar to the refrigerator industry; there are like 5 real companies and they all buy and assemble each others parts into their own model.
why would they do this?! Nokia makes great software and they could really develop either Symbian or Maemo into brilliant OS's. Instead Microsoft will bring them down. Nokia's dumbphones were great, truly great. Nokia's smartphones have, mostly, been essays in failure. I own a N97, I am disappointed to no end by how corners were cut, how useless features were polished while critical features were left half-baked and how bad choices were made on software. I dont care which OS they pick, as long as, when I fork out 500 euros, I get a proper machine, not something with half the ram it needed and undeletable software locked into the ROM.

wtf use microsoft os on a nokia phone? I have an older model that had some kind of java based OS on it. Why not continue in that area and get a form of linux or opensource OS on there, thats stable and secure. Would be cheaper to put together too, instead of paying licensing to microsoft..

I don't like it when my PC is not trying to get along with my NON-PC products. And with MS trying to invade into NON-PC products, I fear my NON-MS products will no longer work with my PC. I hope Google and other non-MS companies come up with a OS for PCs that will set us free from MS's reign. If MS does to PC and Portable Devices what they did to Console Gaming, get ready to be nickel and dime to death. May Nokia burn in hell for selling their soul.

Nokia won't fail, they design and make a lot of the cell phone components that other companies use in their phones. Kinda similar to the refrigerator industry; there are like 5 real companies and they all buy and assemble each others parts into their own model.

why would they do this?! Nokia makes great software and they could really develop either Symbian or Maemo into brilliant OS's. Instead Microsoft will bring them down. The N97 which Nokia heralded as it's flagship was appalling, yet the N900 which was barely marketed was outstanding, Nokia make great products only to ruin it by cutting corners and not trying, RIP Nokia :(

Nokia's dumbphones were great, truly great. Nokia's smartphones have, mostly, been essays in failure. I own a N97, I am disappointed to no end by how corners were cut, how useless features were polished while critical features were left half-baked and how bad choices were made on software. I dont care which OS they pick, as long as, when I fork out 500 euros, I get a proper machine, not something with half the ram it needed and undeletable software locked into the ROM.

wtf use microsoft os on a nokia phone? I have an older model that had some kind of java based OS on it. Why not continue in that area and get a form of linux or opensource OS on there, thats stable and secure. Would be cheaper to put together too, instead of paying licensing to microsoft..

they obviously dont have a good sight for os because windows phones i believe can not compete with android or iOS they would have to brind out a new version just for nokia because it would feel really strange to have windows on a nokia i think they should have tried to improve on maemo that ran N900 because that was almost legemdary they dont have 2 really worry about blackberry because its BBM made it what is today world wide so hey it is a start but i believe there need to be better

@formerutuber I used to hate Apple too, but when you really think about it they are really creative and innovative, they did create the first tablet and made touch screen phones go main stream also they created app store and one of the best first mp3 players *Ipod*, so I think they are a very good competitive company, I still like Android more but it is just because of personal choice. and I think Microsoft and nokia are just shit, trying to monopolize everything.
