  • jeezus yes this is so helpful. when i first installed windows it asked how much i wanted to allocate to backup space and i made the D: drive too big, now i deleted it and have so much more in C:. very helpful.

  • Help please! I Currently I have two drives, one is C and another is D. And I want to extend C, and after doing this (partitioned D) it just said Free Space, not Unallocated. So I can't extend.

  • @iCravethis you have to select the free space and hit delete again, then it becomes unallocated and can be added onto C:

  • @PhilipAlmighty i'm not sure if there's a another way for that but this worked for me: cut and paste all files to the main drive (C:) and then unpartition.

  • @RoyalFreakingDestiny yes i did that (took ages) i had a problem when my laptop was sent to me my C; drive had like 20gb and partion 300gb. this was annoying for things that automatically saved/installed on C had to keep moving them. also made comp run really slow ...

  • @PhilipAlmighty It'll auto delete all the files on the drive.

  • great tutorial mate realy easy thanks

  • You lost a Megabyte!

  • Thank you very much! Massive help!

  • This tutorial was very professional and very helpful, thanks.

  • thanks a lot!!

  • So I'm trying this, but it doesn't work the way you're showing.

I have 2 discs, disc 0 and disc 1. Disc 1 is an external and I don't want to touch that. Disc 0 has an unidentified 25gb partition [dark blue], a C drive with Windows [dark blue] and a D drive [light blue]. I want to include the D drive into the C drive, and then make a new D drive which is bigger.

Whenever I click delete volume on the D drive it doesn't go black like in your video.

  • It goes green and says "free space" rather than "unallocated". When right-clicking on the D drive at that point I can choose to "delete partition" rather than delete volume like before. I have not tried this yet, since I don't want to experiment. Also, I cannot choose "extend" on my C drive to include the free discspace in the D drive. All I can do with C is shrink it. I'd love some help here.

  • @Katapraktoi Right click the drive that says "free space" and delete it again -- then it becomes unallocated. Then you can right click on the main drive and put the storage space back onto one drive.

  • wait i dont have the extend option plz help

  • thanks man

  • Help me i cant extend C drive Make it easy to me saying how to extend c drive please

  • Vince i have a problem. A uncle of mine brought me his laptop which i figured out his harddrive is curupt and won't accept windows to boot. Now i tried to unpartition the hard drive so that i could format his whole hdd. Still doesn't work and now he has 60 gigs that wont unpartition. So i am guessing that the whole drive is messed up??? i am just thinking about buying a new hdd format it and load windows so that will be the end of that. should i continue to try to fix his old or buy a new ? tku

  • to unpartion a drive I did that but when I went to right click to hit extend, extend tab is greyed out so I can't put the gb back in the drive. what do I do?

  • With the MiniTool partition manager wizard, it is easy for you to delete partition, copy partition and other operations. I can't post link, you can search online--MiniTool partition manager wizard, you will get the download page, some editions are FREEEEE.

  • Worked out really well for me! I'm currently running Ubuntu 11.04 on a 10GB partitioned space on my HDD. Thanks for the easy-to-follow video! Just wish my PC partitioned as quickly as yours haha.

    thanks again

  • What can i do if i have an XP ,i realy need more space on my C drive!

  • Extend Volume is greyed out for me after I click "Delete Volume" on my partition.

Where it says "Unallocated" on yours, it says "Free Space" on mine, and the bar on top is lime green. Can anyone help?

  • @manmon77 hey the same thing happened to me, im not sure how to fix this i was wondering if you figured it out?

  • @mattz133769 I did figure it out. Right click the part that says "Free Space" and click "Delete Partition" (I think it says that, it's been a month). If it doesn't say that, look for something that seems similar. You pretty much just need to delete it again for it to say "Unallocated". Hope that helps.

  • whooop i made the 201st like

  • thanks a lot

  • it's nice what you did but ubuntu's al components takes ~4GB

but it is still a good tutorial, thx

  • Thank you very much man, you have no idea how much this tutorial helped me!!!!!

  • Thank you very much.... :-)

  • Hooray! Dude, you made this sooo simple. I've heard the term partition used in various conversations about PC's but was too damn lazy/skeptical to try it. Now, you've elevated myl interest in Windows from lazy user to full blown AVID LEARNER. I'm certain with a lot more time, I'll eventually graduate to true "Windows Scholar" level.....LOL.

    THANKS A MILLION BRO!

  • Can i unpartition my external hard disk using this one?

  • Thanks I needed to re partition my drive and get rid of Ubuntu :)

  • vds won't open for me... =\

  • you sound happy, I'll subscribe

  • thank you good sir i had 100GB of empty space till now lol XD

  • very good video! i have 2 questions though:

    1) When i made the partition and allocated it, it automatically made itself a logical drive instead of a primary partition. I googled this and apparently it needs to be primary for it to boot another operating system. how come mine is logical and how do i make it primary?

and 2) after deleting volume, it turns green with 'Free Space' instead of black and 'Unallocated' and because of this i cant extend it back to my C drive..am i doing somthing wrong?

  • @Uhud same thing happening to me. :/

  • @Uhud actually i just right clicked on the "free space" drive and clicked delete and it went to unallocated

  • EXCELLENT short sweet clear well spoken english STRAIGHT to the point..THANK YOU !! :D

  • @chronofusion Hang on, 1 step at a time. Do not rush this 1337 cyber tech man !. Why no go back a few steps and follow the 30 minute ontro on "How to sit at your pjuter" with Grover teaching your the difference between "In front" and "Behind". If you subsequently manage to plug in some USB peripherals, perhaps you'll be ready to actually do something like this.

  • Dud you u just made my day thanks a lot for your Video and keep up the good work.......
