  • @ninelivecat I agree

  • well that sucked.

  • That's very cool kind of like The Simpsons ride

  • @ninelivecat >.>

  • Why did they get rid of this ride?

  • Why did Dastardly kidnap Elroy anyway?

  • @LightningStrike66X In the opening scene, Hanna and Barbera draw Elroy and he comes to life. Then they draw Dick Dastardly's rocket, and the rocket happens to have Dick in it so he steals Elroy and takes off. That was the story basically.

  • My mom was just talking to me about how much she loved going on this ride with me. We were disappointed when they changed it over to Shrek 4D, even though we stay on the property at Disneyworld and don't go to Universal Studios anymore.

What really impressed me was the CGI for the ride, I guess I was a rather young computer nerd to have picked up on that when I was 10. I was into the Minds Eye computer animation tapes around then too. Awesome stuff, I'm glad you were able to post it here.

  • Wow, that looks really really cool! But the Scooby Doo bit was missing 3 vital characters. Otherwise, great job!

  • Pretty much the one time HB characters were well-animated.

  • I remember this ride. We just visited Universal and I was kinda sorry it was gone. Most kids don't know these characters anymore, I guess.

  • @theschmoopies "Most kids don't know these characters anymore, I guess"

That's primarily the reason why they got rid of it. The Nicktoon ride is basically the same concept, just with more modern cartoons.

  • It would be cooler with a jonny quest world

  • "say Yogi, what's our power source, hydro-bypad anti-matter?"

Nope! a big ol' rubber band, Booboo buddy.

  • i though there was a top cat world!

  • Does anyone else rock back and fourth in there chair to expierence this ride still?

  • I know, I live here in Orlando. I am glad JN ride is gone.

  • You Know why they replaced Hanna Barbera Ride because kids around the year 1998,1999.2001 they didn't liked the hanna barbera ride and thats why they replaced.Since i was born in the year 1992 i love hanna barbera cartoons

  • to bad there going to replace jimmy neutron with that SHITY movie despicable me! i love jimmy neutron and hanna barbera!

  • is this still there or did they change it to jimmy newtron??

  • I just found out something! Dick Dasterdly has the same vioce actor as Gleman Vox in Ratchet Deadlocked!

  • Wow! Jimmy neutron is EXACTLY THE SAME!! COPY!!!!

  • 1:53 SURPRISE!

  • I'm 17 years old and I watch this so much when I was younger, I still does. Nothing in the world can do so I stop watch this.

  • Oh my gosh, thank you so much for putting this up!!! I miss this ride so much. It was very special to me, so I really appreciate your high-quality upload!!!

  • In the movie Who Framed Rogger Rabbit there is Droopy, but he's the only one who owned by Hanna-Barbera. How shameless!

  • Comment removed

  • Jimmy Neutron does NOT suck, just for the fact that they used all of the retro cartoons for at least 3 seconds (A.K.A. Invader Zim, Angry Beavers, Rocko's Modern Life, As Told by Ginger, Hey! Arnold, Wild Thornberrys and alot more)! If you love the old nicktoons then the Jimmy version is awesome because it features all of them, but I like this ride too.

  • I remember this ride! Great! So which Hanna-Barbera characters are your favorites?

My number one favorite will always be Mr. Jinks!

  • @Jinks1447 Yogi Bear, Jetsons, Flintstones, and Scooby-Doo! Who else (besides me) would want to see any these characters with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and/or Goofy?

  • Muito bom show de bola!!

  • I went to this ride in DollyWood in Tennessee on my vacation 2008 and this was titled "Yogi's Wild Ride".

  • First The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera and now Back To The Future: The Ride. The Universal parks is starting to lose it now and the Disney parks are the ones to look up to. Car Toon Spin, the Roger Rabbit dark ride, based on the Spielberg / Zemeckis smash hit is still around thank goodness.

  • Holy Crap! You worked on this??

    For 1991, this is AWESOME!!!

Did you work on any other HB shows in the 90's (ex: 2 Stupid Dogs, dexter's Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls)?

  • universal wasted money for jimmy neutron, i mean jimmy neutron is just plain boring, this ride seems awesome, i was only 3 when they took this down, universal is awesome, but they cant just waste money to replace a good ride to a bad ride, i wish i could have ridden this :(

  • yogi and boo boo rides the hanna barbara ride

  • Wow! This takes me back! I use to make my family ride this thing so many times when we went every summer. I swear, the kids these days have no idea what they've missed.

  • When I went on this at the age of five, I absolutely hated it! It was mostly because of the crappy CGI. Thank God they put in Jimmy Neutron, and I hope its replacement is better than it!

  • I saw this at Paramount Canada's Wonderland before the theme

park was bought by Cedar Fair.

  • I heard there are 4 rides in talks of replacement of JN. It will either be "Fast and Furious, South Park, How To Train Your Dragon, or Transformers".

  • @bIancoitaliano South Park: The Ride? Are you serious!? A lot of kids visit Universal, so South Park's out of the question. I'm thinking either Despicable Me or How to Train Your Dragon.

  • @tejojo Were are talking about Universal, not Disney. Besides, they have the Simpsons, Terminator, and Horror Make Up Show. Even Disney turned down Harry Potter, because they say the movie is too dark and teenage risque.

  • @bIancoitaliano I know, blancoitaliano. I hate Disney!

  • @bIancoitaliano transformers would be the best choice as it caters too both kids and adults

  • I can't believe they replaced this epic win ride with the miserable failure Jimmy Neutron......

  • I agree....Hannah Barbara was awesome ride. I miss it. However....i don't think jimmy neutron sucks...it's ok...at best

  • Jimmy Neutron is pwnsome.

    And so is H-B.

We will miss them both. R.I.P.

  • JIMMY NEUTRON NICKTOON BLAST IS CLOSING APRIL 1ST 2011

but will be open sometimes untill August 18th

  • @Hieagandaus THEY 'RE REPLACING IT WITH DESPICABLE ME :( NOOOOOO IT'S UFAIR :( :(

  • @stanleyschannel at the time of the ride's creation, the Tom and Jerry series was still under separate ownership from the H-B TV library (Turner didn't buy H-B until 1991)

  • Too bad I missed it. I can't believe it closed in 2002, a year after William Hanna's death, so that Universal can replace it with that god-awful Jimmy Neutron Nicktoons ride.

  • @TVBRobotnikReturns: The thing is, in terms of ratings, the Nicktoons trump the Hanna-Barbera stuff, although they're both better than the drivel we get now.

  • In dollywood in tennessee, they named this "Yogi's Wild Ride"

  • YABA? DABA? DOHH!!! XD

  • so glad i got to ride it that summer before they closed it down..loved it..i know some little kids did not like all the movements and were crying..but it was good

  • The nostalgia...it burns!

  • Universal Studios Florida made a big mistake on replacing the Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera with Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoons Blast

  • This was made before the Simpson's Ride and yet they mastered the 2D and 3D animations.

  • @skellington15

That's simple, because Universal didn't give a crap about Simpsons. They just slapped it in for a few bucks off the movie. It shows.

  • hello, I'm from Chile, and I enjoyed this ride when I went to USA in July 2002

  • I totally missed that ride. :'(

  • at :56 who is on that letter? he is in regular clothes so it must have some significance

  • classic yogi and boo-boo's voice is so much better than movie yogi and boo-boo's voice

  • Bit cheeky how they made the haunted castle look so much like the Disneyland castle ;o)

  • this show pisses me of. They canceld swat kats for this

  • the first time that Yogi is not slightly stupid

  • i hav never heard of this ride ever....Universal? how can i miss this ride??

  • @Noone2do Well it's not there anymore...I remember riding this when I was little, everything's more magical when you're a kid.

  • @DavidTRichard T_T poor me

  • @Bliksemdamian Don't Cry, They'll Create A Remake Of That Ride Called The Funtastic World Of Hanna-Barbera 3D-HD Remix With 3D-HD Projection Screens.

  • @johnnieRad

I hope you're right. I always wanted to ride on this awesome ride.

  • omg how could they replace this?!?!?!?! well yeah i love the spongebob ride but idk i think this one would be fun, wait did they just close down the rip ride rocket? they could make a simulater in its place bring back hanna barbera and keep the jimmy nutron ride that would be soo cool! and if they added some other carectors in the ride like the pink panther or the smurfs!!

  • I love rides like this. they really should have made Disney version of this kind of ride. The scenes they should have shown a ride through Roger Rabbits Toontown, and Halloween Town. Then a third or fourth place but I dont know....maybe Andulasia or somethin, or a "water" scene with both the Little Mermaid finding Nemo and Pirates of the Carribean...or how about Wall-E?

  • Can't we all just get along? personally I like the jimmy neutron one better, but universal studios is rich enough to have both. So its their fault the don't have both of them.

  • i think they should bring back back to the future but leave the simpsons ride i like it

  • @Bliksemdamian

Dick Dastardley, Muttley, George & Elroy Jetson, Barney Rubble and Fred Flintstone, IMO, makefor a much better ride.

  • @Bliksemdamian

    ... your point, derpazoid?

  • @mhirtes12: In short, D&M don't just address unfair discrimination...They fight against it!

If only everyone fought for their perceived rights as hard as they do this would be a better world indeed. Alright, it'd be a world with a 100% criminality rate but a better world nevertheless.

  • man why did they have to take out scooby!?

  • @Bliksemdamian

No this is the better half most of the shows on Jimmy Neutron are canceled execpt for Sponge Bob

  • same as the simpsons ride

  • they were using this in 2007 08 at the six flags in louisville ky

  • Damn this is one awesome Ride... you know without Editing of the Original Video Project, and just Re-Process this for an IMAX Theater and it will be even more AWESOME!

  • EPIC AWESOMENESS!!!

  • they need to bring this ET and back to the future back the mummy and the simpsons suck

  • @robertcote1 You are confusing the Hollywood and Orlando park.

  • @bIancoitaliano this was at orlando. In the 1990's the had the The Flintstones Show at Hollywood

  • this was later tuned into nickelodeon jimy newtron and now its going to be cartoon network themed

  • That was AWESOME!!!!!

  • i wish they had this ride when i went

  • when i was younger i went on a Spongebob ride like this but i would have soo gone on this ride instead of the Spongebob one if they had it!!!! I'm such a huge fanatic of classic cartoons my dogs i used to have (they passed away :() were named Fred and Barney after the Flintstones, my dad named them :3

  • @BumbleX no hannah barberra made it

  • Those were good times.

  • This ride is the best Universal should bring this back. Jimmy Neutron SUCKS!!!!!

    Comment if you agree

  • @KingSora3000 I completely agree my friend. I can't believe they took this out, and the back to the future ride too! all the great rides are being taken away :(!

  • @KingSora3000

Either way, both of them are very cool. I would rather have both of them.

  • @KingSora3000 Planet Sheen sucks...not Jimmy Neutron..

  • @KingSora3000 I agree!!! The only reason they got rid of this and had it replaced by Jimmy Neutron, is because alot of kids don't have an interest in the Hanna Barbera characters anymore, they bassically like Nickelodeon more now!!!!

  • @KingSora3000 I agree with you 100%! The classic character's rule.

  • @KingSora3000

    maybe you're right

but, in my case, i haven't seen most of these cartoons

    because they are really old

i think i would enjoy the jimmy neutron ride, because all my childhood is back there

in my opinion, both rides should be available for all aged people to choose

  • @KingSora3000 i think they should bring it back my parents love that ride.

  • @KingSora3000 i don't think jimmy neutron sucks ok. i love jimmy neutron.

i still like hanna barbera. so that's a thumbs down.

  • @KingSora3000 Yeah,I Hate Jimmy Neutron....But Not The Rest Of The Nicktoons!

  • @KingSora3000 Actually Say Despbicle Me Sucks Jimmy Nertron Is Almost Gone Too So were both Going To Miss Them :(

  • What about space ghost

  • I wish I had gotten to ride this before they changed it. Thank you so much for uploading it. <3

  • This Ride Will Be Remastered In 3-D

  • @johnnieRad 3D No way! Where?

  • is this where back to the future was/ the simpson ride?

  • @piperandleoxx4 No, this was turned into the Jimmy Neutron ride.

  • @TheFounders oh ok gotcha

  • if they were to put more characters in this, they should've put the rest of the characters from wacky races, penlope pitstop-anthill mob-the hooded claw, fantastic max, and others. for me, and if they had it in hollywood, i would've rode it, no matter what it did or how wild it was, if it has my fave toons in it, it's a sure bet that it's the first stop.

  • omg thank you for this! blast from the past!

  • I've only ridden this once in my life and I remember this was actually really fun.

  • So, why DID Dastardly kidnap Elroy for in the first place? Special order for Rush Limbaugh? lol

  • @mhirtes12

He was just jealous of him because Hanna and Joesph Barbera were concentrating more on the more well known ones rather than Dastardly.

  • @mhirtes12 - Well, I'll have to start at the very beginning of the pre-show to explain to you why Dick Dastardly kidnaps Elroy Jetson. You see, at the beginning, Yogi Bear wants to shows us himself how animation works, but he tells Boo-Boo Bear that he doesn't know how it works. But the Boo-Boo Bear tells him that the Big Bosses are there, which are William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The both of them appear on one of the other screens and they introduce themselves and they tells us how the

  • @mhirtes12 - William Hanna and Joseph Barbera tell us how animators create dozens of different drawing of each cartoon character and on one of the walls, there's a drawing of Dick Dastardly and Muttley. Joseph Barbera points out the drawing of Dick Dastardly and asks William Hanna if he remembers that old villain and William Hanna says that he does remember Dick Dastardly. Then William Hanna suggests to Joseph Barbera to draw Elroy Jetson and he agrees. Once after Elroy Jetson is drawn,

  • @mhirtes12 - One after Elroy Jetson is drawn, Elroy Jetson literally pops off the piece of paper. Then William Hanna says that now a days, carttoons are even being created with computers and then a computer magically appears out of thin air. William Hanna then says, "Take like old Dick Dastardly's spaceship, for example. The computer drew everything that you see." In which the computer draws Dick Dastardly's spaceship, but after it's drawn, the old villain himself,

  • @mhirtes12 - Once the computer drawn on the screen, the old villain himself, Dick Dastardly appears from inside his spaceship, as well as Muttley. He then says, "Do you know how sick I am of being called old Dick Dastardly?" Yogi Bear then calls him a grouch. Then Dick Dastardly says, "I am deliciously wicked and unscrupulous as ever! In fact, you should make me and Muttley the stars of Hanna-Barbera's next project!" But then Joseph Barbera says, "Sorry, Dastardly, but Elroy's next, followed by

  • @mhirtes12 - "Sorry, Dastardly, Elroy's next, followed by the Flintstones." And then even William Hanna even chips in with saying, "Then Scooby-Doo." Then Dick Dastardly says," Enough! If I'm not the star of Hanna-Barbera's next project, then no one will be!" Then Muttley pulls out a plunger gun that latches onto Elroy's leg and Muttley then reels Elroy into their spaceship, with Dick Dastardly then saying, "I'm taking Elroy where you'll never find him! HAHAHA!" Their spaceship then

  • @mhirtes12 - then their spaceship blasts through a time portal in the computer, in which the computer is malfunctioning and spray sparks everywhere. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera say the computer is going to explode and just right before the exit the screem, they tell Yogi that he needs to save Elroy. After they exit the screen, the computer sucks up the screen. On the other screen, Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo Bear request for us to help them out and rescue Elroy Jetson and that's how you get

  • @mhirtes12 - And that's how you get involved with the ride and that how and why Dick Dastardly kidnaps Elroy Jetson. I hope that this answers your question, mhirtes 12! Sincerely, Justin Day :)

  • @lerdalparker23 I hope so.

  • I went to Universal Studios when I was about 6. The rides that I remember the most were ET, Back to the Future, Twister, Jaws, Earthquake, King Kong, and Terminator. It was so much fun. It all seemed so real and magical :) I want to go back there again someday.

  • They have this exact ride at Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Ky. I love this ride!!!! :)

  • didnt they change this ride to the jimmy neutron thing? this ride looks more fun than jimmy neutron. no one even watches him anymore

  • @lerdalparker23 I only wish.

  • Why would it?

  • Great ride

  • My family took me to

Universal Studios back in 94. This was a really fun ride to go on. It was just a mild rollercoaster tame enough to take the 'Rents on!

I went on it twice I loved it so much!

    I miss this ride!

  • jeff bergman provide the voice of george jetson

  • @animalbond007 Yep.

  • RIGHT FRED!

  • Michael Bell voiced Dastardly in this ride

  • @ChiuahuaTube Yes.

  • I like this ride but the preshow kinda creeps me out because the computer is moving alive. Also I wish someone would post The Godzilla Ride on youtube.

  • what Godzilla ride?

  • Monster Planet of Godzilla

  • I don't think that was a ride?

  • What? forreal? Theres a godzilla ride?

Where is that? omg i would ride that! XDD

  • I don't know But I think it's in Japan because the say Gorjira D:

  • STEP ON IT BARNEY!

  • i remember when they had this in Mall of america :D

  • They should have added Huckleberry Hound,Tom and Jerry,Ruff and Reddy,Quick Draw McGraw, and Dynomutt to the ride

  • @ChiuahuaTube

Hey, how about the Smurfs, if they were Hanna Barbera creations.

  • @Jangwoofilms Smurfs are created by Hanna-Barbera

  • @ChiuahuaTube Peyo aka Pierre Culliford created them and then licensed them for Hanna Barbera to use.

  • @ChiuahuaTube. I agree with you, those other Hannah-Barbera characters should have appeared in this ride as well.

I think the real reason why those characters didn't appear in this ride is because Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, and Jetsons caught on for years to come, while those others didn't catch on like them.

  • step on it barney!

  • Really to bad they took this away, it was such a awesome experience as a kid.

Wish I could ride it once more.

  • Man, this is awesome. I always wanted to go on this ride when I was a kid, but never got to go to america.

Who's voicing Dastardly here? Definately doesn't sound like Mr. Winchell.

  • @theyissofunny Michael Bell.

I'm not certain but I believe Mr. Winchell started having health problems at about this time.

  • I love this ride when it was there , but I did enjoy the Jimmy Netron ride

  • this was at carowinds in the 2d FX theater

  • 2:32 Look it the bottom right corner, that's the same club from the Rockin with Judy Jetson movie.

  • This ride was always alot of fun. Just another classic attraction that Universal killed off because they were too lazy to expand the park.

If they didn't open Islands of Adventure, they would be out of business by now. Taking out BTTF was the last straw for me. They replaced that to build a Simpsons ride, a show that hasn't been funny in at least ten years.

Old school Universal was great. Now they suck. I hope Disney steals the Marvel characters and kills them off once and for all.

  • I remember riding this ride back when and I miss it so much and in the gift shop there used to be a machine that would allow you to do cartoon overdubs and you could hear your voice on the parts you overdubbed. That was awesome and I miss both at Universal Studios Orlando but Jimmy Neutron is another great ride in it's place.

  • This is so fantastic (or FUNTASTIC, I can say).

    Hanna-Barbera rules!

  • Oh my god.

I remember riding this! I wish I could go on it again, but at least I can keep the video for nostalgic reasons.

    Thanks! :D

  • haha I love this ride but I had to wait an hour for four minutes!

  • This ride ws so freakin wesome.

  • OH MY GOD! I miss this ride sooo much.

The new Nickelodeon ride is fun but it dosen't compare to this!

  • That was AWESOME!!! I just wish that ride would exist forever!

  • Baron Dastardly is voiced by Rene Auberjonois.

  • Rene Auberjonois? He did Vorador from the Legacy of Kain series too :D

  • What's more, Elroy Jetson is voiced here and in the Jetsons movie by Patric Zimmerman, who would later voice big, bad terrorist Ocelot in the Metal Gear Solid series.

  • Good god this is like beautiful nostalgia for any Hanna Barbera fan. And they got rid of it?! T_T

Michael Ball actually doesn't do too bad as Dastardly, but he ought to tone down the amount of times he laughs a bit.

  • Oh, and anothing thing I love is that they have the music for their shows (well, not Scooby Doo, but it was great when Bedrock came and the Flintstone's theme started playing. 8D)

  • before we know it they will take out th E.T. ride.

  • they already took the E.T. ride out at the one in hollywood but florida still has it =(

  • @buckeyejeffs419 and Jaws

  • @buckeyejeffs419 they took it out in california
